French Creek State Park, within an hour’s drive of Philadelphia, offers 20 miles of difficult biking trails that climb hills , cross streams and pass through forests .
Awesome huge Pennsylvania park . Filled with wild life. Great for viewing nature and fishing . Also has state game land. Great for picnics .
Nice campsites , in loop D. The park is pretty, and so is the lake . Cant wait to go back.
Camping in D Loop is much more secluded than Loops A-C: all tent sites w/o power. Hiking is great, both Boone and Horseshoe trails :)
I love camping here. I'm always walking the trails and it seems the cabins and yurts are always booked .
Chester County is known for its open spaces , including French Creek State Park, nearly 7,400 acres of well-marked hiking trails and two lakes—truly a canine paradise.
For a great "best of" hike , take the Boone trail starting from the boat launch . Or, do a loop involving a good portion of the Horseshoe trail starting. Read more
Maybe it was because it was Labor Day weekend. But I felt that it was crowded and trashy. I saw 3 different people throw their water bottles on the ground . That was the lake & pool area only.
Extend the disc golf course by splitting some of the longer holes (1-8) into two seperate holes, play silver tees first, then shoot at gold from the green spraypaint
Lot A39 is great for group camping . The large shared area has two picnic tables and firepits with room for at least 3 tents
Pool here is huge, or rent a kayak or canoe for cheap but it's a small lake .
Geocachers - another fantastic venue for treasure hunting goodness.
play disc golf ! Ask the park to add better signaled thou!!

Great hidden gem in south-central/eastern PA. Lots of history. Rangers super nice. We stopped spontaneously and I was in flip-flops... I'd recommend sneakers if you want to do stuff outside village. - Donna Talarico
