Solo Sushi Ya

Great quality Japanese food , even this far north. This is run by Japanese people, not Koreans as is usual over here. Had the Yokohama sushi set . The nigiri was good and the maki (tuna ) was exceptional

Unagidon was good. There was quite a lot of eel . Chirashidon was good too: the pieces of sashimi were big (not the usual smaller random pieces). It was good quality sashimi .

Seared garlic albacore tuna was good - only the outside was seared, showing good heat control, and the garlic flavour was pretty good. Soft shell crab was good too, and it was a large serving.

Miso soup was good. It was not heavy & had a fresh flavour . The salad was pretty good. It had a mixture of greens. The dressing was good: zesty.

The actual best sushi I have ever had. This place has been here for 17 years!

Soft shell crab (not so common here!) was good: well fried, though the batter was a little thick.

One of the best sushi places in the GTA
