Breathtaking views ! Even better experience if you hike to the top. Maybe a mountain goat will come say hello to you as well !
Fantastic views at the top and a great drive all way along! Don't forget your pullover because it is really cold and windy at the top. It is so worth a day's trip and I can't wait to go one more time!
Drive the highest paved highway in North America , which starts in Idaho Springs and climbs 7,000 feet in just 28 miles, peaking at 14,264 feet with top-of-world views (summery only).
Beautiful and incredible scenery the drive up is a bit of a white knuckle experience due to no guardrails and big horn sheep in the road . Be weary of altitude sickness.
If you plan to drive this scenic route, watch the weather forecast to make sure the road will be open for the day. Also, plan for the cold: it can be 50 degrees colder at the top than in Denver!
One of the most beautiful white knuckle drives I've ever experienced. With no guardrails and a width of basically a car and a half at the tip half, this is not for the faint of heart.
Amazing views up top. Traffic can be busy on the way up.
Mountain Goats ! Bighorn sheep! Bring your camera and order the Pam fried trout at the base Echo Lake great place for picnic and hike !
Highest accessible paved road in North America . Hooked on 14ers.
Moutain goats and big horn sheep , if you're lucky.
Look for all the animals. Large and small.
One of the most beautiful places in the world. Come at night.
The view is spectacular

Amazing local brewery. Try the elk and buffalo bugers. The jalapeño popper buffalo burger is amazing! Treat yourself to a flight of beer made locally. - Ashin Rangani
