Maeklong Market

A sight that can only be found in Thailand. Train passes by 8x a day n when they do, the stalls along the track will lower their awnings yet leave the low level goods intact. Definitely worth a visit.

It's very exiting place to see... people sales veggie s and more stuff like that but when the train comes they immediately closing tents and stops sales ... :-)

Arriving here on the Maeklong Railway was amazing. It is quite an adventure from Bangkok. Make you way down to HiiG at the other end for some drinks and sticky rice .

Must visit when you’re in Bangkok. One hour or so ride. Ask your guide to stop along the way to catch the train and enter in the market like a boss.

Try to get the photo towards the front of the market as it doesn’t look as good at the train station nor towards the back. There is a cafe with air con there. Rest of the market is unique but stuffy.

Come here for this famous market beside railway place. Things selling here are quite nice with a reasonable price

Went with a guide but she brought us at the market next block not in the middle of the railway track market . Crowded with tourists . Good experience.

The stalls are unbelievably close to the rail tracks , but surprisingly "safe" at the same time.The market produce are also cheap !

Went in the afternoon and witness the 1.45pm train arriving. Less crowd on weekday afternoon, better for photo opportunity . After half hour the train will depart, that is another photo opportunity .

Fresh / live seafood at very affordable price ! Very crowded . Better wear long pants to avoid your legs getting spattered by fish blood or flesh.

A totally underrated market on the way to the floating market . Watch as the train pulls in at 8:30 am!

Many fresh products ; Various vetgetable - Seasonal fruits - Typical Thai desserts - Local wooden crafts. ....

Before COVID the train was passing 8 times a day. Post COVID it is only 2 times a day 11:10 and 14:30 only.

สามารถนั่งรถไฟจากสถานีวงเวียนใหญ่ไปที่ตลาดแม่กลอง เมื่อรถไฟมาถึง แม่ค้าพ่อค้าจะหุบร่มเพื่อหลบรถไฟ เราจึงเรียกตลาดนี้ว่า "ตลาด ร่มหุบ" รถไฟ ถึงตลาดเวลา 06:20, 08:30, 09:00, 11:10, 14:30, 15:30, และ17:40

ตั้งแต่เด็กจนถึงวันนี้ทุกครั้งที่เห็นรถไฟกำลังวิ่งเข้าชานชะลา แล้วพ่อค้าแม่ค้าเก็บร่มเก๊บของตามทางรถไฟ เพื่อให้รถไฟผ่านเข้าชานชะลาได้อย่างรวดเร๊วมากๆม่ะเคยมีอุบัติเหตุ ทึ่งอะ นี่หล่ะที่มาของตลาด ร่มหุบ

"ปลาทูแม่กลอง " อร่อยที่สุดในบรรดาปลาทูทั่วโลก.. ของแท้ต้อง "หน้างอ คอหัก" ทอดดีๆ กินได้ทั้งตัวเลยนะ จะบอกให้! :P
