The statue was unveiled and given to the City of Baltimore on October 22, 2011. Among those speaking at the ceremony were Governor Martin O'Malley, Senator Barbara Mikulski, Jeff Idelson, the President of the Baseball Hall of Fame and others.

Absolutely gorgeous ballpark right in downtown Baltimore. Fans were great when I visited as a fan of the visiting team. Seats were comfy for ballpark seats. Views were great from the 1st base side. - Michelle L
