Fantastic smoked spareribs - by themselves, well worth going. Other BBQ items were very good, but just shy of great. Making BBQ is a bit more art than science, so still happy to strongly recommend.
Very good place. Service is quick and careful. Angus beef brisket is super-tender, extremely tasty and absolutely delicious. "Wolf's turd" is an opposite to its name :) and very good too. Must visit!
The food here is very good, I happened to have the pull pork Sammie it was really good combined with the habanero sauce and the cole slaw on the side, my friend had the Mac n cheese and it was great
Fatty beef brisket , chicken , BBQ ribs , Mac and cheese , and the corn bread are a must try for your first time. Pass on the pulled pork - too dry. Remember to use the sauces on the table!
You know this place is legit from the smell, but the super-friendly owner, killer sauce, bombin' brisket , and solid ribs are what put it over the top. That, and they add bacon to every side dish... :)
There was brisket in the mac & cheese , enough said. The brisket was awesome, pull pork was great and the place was packed. Definitely a must visit BBQ joint in San Jose.
Great brisket , mac and cheese , beer , and sauce. I liked the blues music playing too, pairs well with bbq . Try the Wolf Turds !
The ribs are big meaty, and tasty. The sides are nothing to write home about. Mac & Cheese , bbq beans & side salad that was loaded with cilantro (which can ruin the salad if you don’t like it).
A nice review and notes on wolf turds , chicken lollipops and the three-meat combo from SanJose.com http://www.sanjose.com/restaurants/articles/2013/06/12/bbq_at_the_the_smoking_pig
I always bring out of towers here. The best brisket in California. Ribs are meh. Live music on Fridays and Saturdays. Great beer menu .
The hot links are huge and delicious.
Try the wolf turds , be warned, they pack a punch. Food is great, service is very friendly
Excellent BBQ , when ordering the brisket order half and half , fatty and non fatty, gives you the perfect balance.
Nothing fancy . Authentic pit BBQ . I've had spicier hot links . Brisket is offered lean or fatty. Impressive selection of wine and beer .
The chicken salad is GREAT. Small is enough for two, and ALWAYS mix the sassy and Spicy BBQ sauces for the Brisket . Mmmmm
Spare ribs are excellent & huge. Brisket rocks! Yummy corn bread . Greens are "okay". Skip the pulled pork , it's dry and flavorless.
Don't fool yourself, you want to go "healthy" and get the lean brisket , but just do yourself a favor and get the fatty.
Disgusting amount of meat (in a good way.) If you find yourself in San Jose and you want BBQ , you could do a lot worse. ????????????
This Mac and Cheese is exceptional. Cheesy and with little bits of meat. Perfection.
In order of deliciousness, brisket is definitely #1, the ribs are #2, and the pulled pork is #3.
Ask for brisket . They're from another planet. Definitely!!!
Fatty Brisket is the must have! Top it with their Kansas city hot bbq sauce .
Good sauce, great environment. Brisket was a little dry and thin cut. Ribs were smoked just right.
Great BBQ in San Jose? Yes it is true. Try the burnt ends . They area favorite.
Two words: amazing brisket !
Great brisket sandwich but on top of it all: bacon in the macaroni and cheese ! You read that right.
Burnt ends are tasty! Brisket is pretty good. Oddly named, but wolf turds are a must try.
Real American place. Home made sauces, great meat, home made sausages
Skip the pulled pork and the ribs , get those moist briskets ! Also try the wolf turds , corn bread , and the mac n cheese !
Fatty Brisket and the mac and cheese side has more brisket in it! Wolf turds if you're adventurous.
Delicious meats. Peanut butter pie is worth it—it has Oreos .
Great food but a wee bit cold. However, the Mac n Cheese and Peanut Butter Cream Pie Cake are as exceptional as the service :-)
Great food try the peanut butter pie , and don't forget they have live music I think on Thursday nights
Chicken leg quarter and pulled pork !! Ribs are pretty good; brisket tender but disappointing flavor. Must order Mac & cheese too!
The brisket is amazing and when combined with the Carolina Sassy BBQ sauce , it's sublime.
Best BBQ in the bay area. They ask you if you want fatty, lean, or mixed. The lean is plenty flavorful in my opinion.
Loved the pork ribs , very tasty. Would have liked if the beef brisket was served warm.
Got the burnt ends . You won't be disappointed if you get them too!
The southern greens are great! And if you like it hot, ask for the ghost chili sauce .
Blown away by the burnt ends !
Authentic BBQ shack.
Beer , music , brisket , sauce, wolf turds , burnt ends
Seriously legit BBQ - go for the brisket and ribs .
The Chicken Lolipops are OUT of this world!!
I’m not a fan. The food was pretty disappointing, especially the ribs . Maybe I’m a bit spoiled, coming from the Midwest. It certainly doesn’t make up for it in atmosphere either.
Wolf Turds ! brisket , Ribs and Burnt Ends ????
The pulled pork is some of the best I've ever had! So good!
Try the 3 Meat Combo - Definitely coming back for the fatty brisket #omnomnom Ribs are OK.
Mac n cheese , corn bread , pulled pork , brisket are great!
Try the 2 Meat Combo - Collard greens are great. Fatty brisket , so good...
Pulled pork sandwich is amazing. Top it with the slaw and drench it in their sauce! - Dan Pritchett
Their ribs are amazing (rib sandwich especially) they just added Mac n Cheese to the menu also! MANY FLAMES - Sean Baca
The spam masubis and honey walnut shrimp are really GOOD :P - Sarah Luu
A friendly bowling environment, excellent lanes and a fantastic pro shop. - Mo Budak
