Anthropology Museum of México

This is one of my favorite museums in the world, and I have been in a lot of museums around Brazil, USA and Europe. Try the near Starbucks at the park , they have a gorgeous environment for a coffee !

Must. But start With the mayas which is the most important part in the museum , I recommend this because the museum is huge and you don't want to miss the best of it/

One of the best museums I've visited ever! Each section contains info that ties in to history from all parts of Mexico. Start with the North, then Central & so on. Make it a several day excursion.

If you only visit one museum while in Mexico, make sure it is this one. Amazing exhibits , but be sure to set an entire day aside if you want to enjoy it fully.

The space is super cool, but it’s too big to see all at once. You can see the whole first floor in two rushed hours if you don’t care to read all the signage

Make sure you pace yourself and see the rooms unique to this museum . Be warned there’s little English information so no narrative is provided to you.

Incredible. I don't usually rush for anthropology museums , but this is so well done. It's emotional to see the arc of human history so thoroughly presented. And the building is awesome in its impact.

Go directly to the central hall for the Impressive Aztec exhibit . There is no way you will be able to do the entire museum in one day.

Magnificent museum . Should not be missed & you will need at least four hours to see all. Get the audio tour guide to maximize the visit. Fascinating stuff.

An excellent and really huge museum with lots of ancient sculptures from all over the country . There are always excellent temporary exhibits , so you can visit again and again. Go, you won't regret it.

New & improved. The architecture and lighting alone are worth the visit, but the overall story of pre-Colombian Mexican history is difficult to comprehend in context. Better time maps would help

The museum is huge! And now my favorite museum I've ever visited! Definitely requires at least half a day, if not the whole day if you really want to see and read everything.

Most of the large placards have English, not the smaller artefact ones. Beautifully modern and laid out. Loved the hybrid indoor/outdoor layout. A true anthropological tour through Mexico's history.

Huge. The first floor is more ancient compared the second floor. Don’t miss the special exhibition on the right of entrance, if there is one.

It's a very amazing place to know about past, history and Mexican culture ; is better you come with free time ! It's big and it has a lot of thing to see and enjoy !

A lovely museum with so much history. Spent 2 hours and only saw the ground floor rooms - plan to spend many more hours to see it all!

This massive and noteworthy museum of pre-Hispanic art thoroughly covers each region of Mexico and its history, displaying beautiful and historical pieces of art and artifacts .

There's a lovely outdoor cafe hidden down the stairs to the left as you enter the main central area. Great quiet place to drink and recharge.

A must visit in Mexico, with very interesting prehispanic objects, and major exhibitions , brings much knowledge to understand present and origins of this beautiful country

If you would like an English speaking tour guide, you can find an official one outside the museum entrance. Well worth the money if you're there to actually learn something.

An absolute 'must' when visiting Mexico City . If you can't visit more than one museum during your trip, this is the one you have to see.

A great museum focused on Mexican history . Outside the museum , try "Dorilocos" from the street vendors. A wild and tasty MDX street food .

I really enjoyed the Mexica room (directly opposite the entrance.) don’t forget to look at the exhibits in the back yard behind each room!

Beautiful Open air museum that walks you through the history of Mexico. A must see

A complete tour in this museum takes a bit more than three hours. So, the best thing to do is to visit the Mayan and Aztec halls, which are the most representative. Visit the souvenir shop.

Great museum with a huge collection! You'll need approximately 1,5 - 2 hours to appreciate everything.

You must not leave Mexico City without visiting the Museum of Anthropology. Even the walk through the park Bosque de Chapultepec +/or along tree-lined Paseo de la Reforma boulevard is an "appetizer "

This phenomenal museum is divided into "halls," each celebrating a different Mexican culture . Visit the Mexica Hall first, where an intricate sun stone depicts the Aztec cosmos .

In my opinion, the best museum in Mexico , you have things like the original Sun Stone (Aztec Calendar), Obsidian pieces, dioramas.

Lots of history here. I like how they divide their different indigenous communities and explain one by one. Very informative!

This is one of the most interesting and beautiful museums I've seen. I will definite return.

The Maya and Azteca rooms are the best ones, however the entire museum is really a must, very well organized and unique collections

Contains some of the finest archeological artifacts on all of Mexico and probably the American contingent but the exhibition is outdated and hard to comprehend if you speak no Spanish
