The Hainanese chicken rice is really good; probably one of the best I've had in the area. They serve with dark soy sauce and ginger/oil/scallions sauce, so feels very authentic .
Northern Vietnamese pho (flat noodles , no basil leaves or bean sprouts , more savory broth ) and Hainan chicken make this a great place to grub in San Mateo.
Good food. Tried the beef pho and chicken pho . Both were good. Excellent broth and the meat was delicious. 3 color drink also good, not too sweet
Best pho ga I've had! Chicken is juicy and broth is good. They use kuey teow (flat rice noodles ) instead of vermicelli in their soup . Served with fish sauce , lime , and jalapenos .
Parking can be crazy; be ready to park on streets, in neighborhood , or behind the store. Line can be long, but very worth the wait.
Try the chicken pho . One of the best pho in San Mateo.
Pho good, hainan chicken above average, clams ok. Service very good. Will come again.
Chicken noodle soup , Hainan chicken rice
Ox tail soup ????????
Hainan chicken was good, Thai ice tea was too watery , cheese butter clams good
Imperial roll not good, five spice chicken very good, vermicelli ok
5 Spice Chicken with Noodle Soup
Chicken bun was on point.
Shrimp spring roll good, oxtail soup average
Really disorganized service. 15 people waiting for a table yet the restaurant was half empty. Needs to get into the groove of things.
Vietnamese-Chinese fusion?
Sugerencia. Spring roll de camarón y Pho de Brisket !
Some unique Vietnamese dishes you don’t find at your typical Vietnamese restaurant. We haven’t tried anything that wasn’t delicious! Great flavors and colorful presentation. Happy hour menu is good. - Amy W.
Get the spring roll with sugar cane shrimp! So good - Tanusree Munshi
Come early for the char-sui (that goes great with their house do-it-yourself ramen). Sells out fast! - Gnat Brain
