Escalante's Mexican Grille

Went late on a Sunday and had good service . Food was good and well made. Drinks were also all made correctly and tasty. Fast service too.

This is an upscale "tex-mex" - the table side guacamole is a must. Spinach enchiladas & empanadas are amazing and probably my favorite salsa in H-town just the right amount of kick w/ great flavor.

The Queso Fundido is the bomb. The wait staff tries to rush you out on busy nights. Other than that it's a good atmosphere.

Pretty extensive menu. Salsa was fresh, enchiladas were tasty, other entrees looked good as well . Was there for lunch , so no drinks.

We sat at the bar and the only thing that took long was deciding what to eat. The food was out in no time and was awesome! I'm not sure of the name, but I had the plate with the 3 petite skews w/ shri

I just loved the queso ! And the carne assada escalante is awesome!

Spinach Enchiladas , tilapia are great. Make sure u tell them dont mash the beans !!

The micheladas are refreshing and escabiche tostadas are delicious!

Best queso in town . It's white, so it may throw you off the first time... But then you'll get hooked.

Great margaritas and they got that good good guacamole .

I feel like the food is good but way overpriced. $12 for 3 ground beef tacos and rice and beans? Also skip the $11 Margarita as it was pretty weak and not that much different than a well drink ...

Food is great at all escalante's. service here is pretty bad all around. Inattentive and dismissive. Management rarely steps up. Unfortunate for probably their best geographic location.
