You know when you walk into a place and you feel the groove, the vibe, "this is it". Yup. The Hideout Bar 's ambiance is memorable. Great people watching and live music . Check it out!
Great place for awesome local artists , especially music . Check out some of the many awesome band that's been on this stage, Derek Nelson and the Musicians , The Mutts, and my fav. Paper Thick Walls!
Other than a good sweater and a roaring fire, one of the best ways to stay warm and cope with the seemingly never-ending winter is enjoying a hot bowl of homemade soup . Get yours here from 5:30pm. Read more
It is the best bar around. Appeals to all ages and has the coolest vibe. Love it!
So cute venue, but the owner likes to hear himself talk. And will sabotage your experience by talking nonsense. My advice be prepared for a 2 hour show to last 4 hours. The end.
A little bit out of the way and in a place you wouldn't expect to find a bar , but a great find and worth a return trip. Read more

Great night out! Luckily we chanced on the One Liner Chicago Comedy Competition, with 64 local comedians competing to no. 1. Hilarious!
Veggie Bingo is out of season (sad) but is beyond fun. Don't miss The Interview Show the first Friday of every month-- they're great.

Great ambience, cool music , fresh beer .
One of the best and most communitarian venues in Chicago . Always a great time.
A small front bar gives way to a larger music venue in the back. Order a cheap beer and hang around for some great local acts.
Where they won’t floor you with décor (what do you expect from a 100-year-old house?), they do it with the music and rye . Order The Wooden Leg , named after an old bartender’s band.
Great spot live performances of indie disco music . They often do vinyl releases.
Live music , comedy , and cheap drinks . What more do you need?
Anything goes at this music venue in Bucktown—from Baudelaire-inspired shows to performances by indie rock bands .
We imagine this place hasn't changed much since Neko Case was behind the bar . Though it's tucked away in an alley, you feel like home when you arrive.
Go to the Hideout just after you've picked up that tool you neede at te North Ave Home Depot. Hideout is a no-frills just great bar & music venue . One of the best places to see a new band.
I really enjoyed this unique venue. Good sized venue that feels intimate .
Monday nights with Robbie Fulks -- the best ten bucks you can spend in Chicago.

The Hideout is the bar where Mr. Rudy Day plays! ( *Every two to three years. )
One of my favorite venues in Chicago . Great bands.
Congratulations, you've found one of Esquire's Best Bars in America. This place used to be a third-shift bar for garbagemen and snowplow drivers. Now, not so much. But it's still good. Read more
The name describes it perfectly, though they host some of the better alternative/country bands in the city .
Super low key place to see a show or just get a drink
The staff here is amazing. The bartenders even make an out of town teetotaler feel welcome.
The music , the vibe, the people....enough said.
Great place for discovering great local bands .
Great shows here!
