In 1992, our first Ottawa store was built in an old movie theatre. It quickly became a popular destination and a larger location was soon needed. In 2000 we moved into a marvelously reconditioned building, the first retail store in Canada to comply with C2000 Green Building Certification.

I bought amazing swiss mountain climbing gloves here. They are tight enough to handle small objects in winter but warm too. Bought them 7 years ago and one of my best purchases ever. 60 bucks though.
They offer events in the city ! Bike rides , running races and even buses to Algonquin Park for the weekend. Outdoor enthusiast heaven!

Good place to buy a school backpack for your kid that will actually last the whole year.
The MEC Blitz Crag Daypack is tough, durable & takes a load for a small pack. 8.5 x 11 paper gets sqeezed & small things like memory sticks & coins can get lost in the bottom folds of the main pouch.

Knapsack buckle slippage? Fit your knapsack first, then tie the excess strapping into a knot below the buckle - or - fold up the excess & pinch it together with a rubber band below the buckle.
