I've come a long way for this place. It was a very memorable and moving experience. The "Dark Universe " show is unique and truly captivating, narrated by the one and only Neil Degrasse Tyson .
Beautiful from the outside, amazing from the inside. Great experience all around. P.s. The seats are way too comfortable . Don't go if you are tired or you will end up sleeping during the show.
Wish the show was longer or they had a different one everyday. I wish they showed all the different episodes of “how the universe works” or planet earth here
The Dark Universe show in the planetarium was fantastic but waaaay too short for the $20+ it is for a ticket. But, if you just buy the show ticket you get into the museum for free.
If you are interested in learning about the cosmos and space exploration, this is the place for you! All of the exhibits are great, but my favorite one was the dark universe . Try them all!
Nice production value and if you've never been to a planetarium it's worth the $20. If you have general knowledge of the universe you probably won't learn anything new though.
I love learning about space, so naturally, this is one of my favorite places in the city . The dark universe exhibit was incredible to say the least.
The view is especially spectacular at night. http://hashtagnyu.tumblr.com/post/141255765865/how-to-impress-visitors-at-nyu-central-park
Dark Universe was informative and a spectacular presentation. Wish the seats leaned back though. Makes you feel like the speck of galactic dust that we are!
It was great, and packed with kids and students. Even though it was summertime. I enjoyed it but think I missed a lot.
Sit at the back! The seats don't recline, so otherwise your neck will hurt as you crane it to see the show.
Amazing place to see a film or just stare at the night sky. Separate admission.
Great experience in the planetarium . Great little bit in dark energy and dark force. Must see!
For an excellent tour guide at the HP Museum I highly reconmend:"Andrew Epstein". Hes a walking encyclopedia of knowledge .
Take your time to explore! Do the walk down from the theater . & if you can, watch one of the shows
Must check out Dark Universe ! Every time you see it, you end up having a different experience! ????
Any time you think the world revolves around you, go watch the show and have Whoopi Goldberg explain to you that it doesn't.
The IMAX deep space experience was a highlight of my whole NYC trip
Definitely go see the show, runs every 30 minutes
The Dark Universe exhibit was absolutely fantastic. Highly recommend it.
Are you feeling impatient? Was your train a few minutes late today? Go check out the Helibrunn Cosmic Pathway and put things in perspective.
Come here for the dark matter show at the space theater .
The Hayden Sphere blew my mind... go and you'll see what I mean.
No better way to see the universe :) Turn off any cell phones or bright lights to get the best effect!
I've dreamed about this place for years and I'm not disappointed. Absolutely exciting!❤️????
Wow the new planetarium show with Neil Degrasse Tyson was really great.
The dark universe show is a highlight.
Sit in the back, the chairs don't lean back. You avoid a stiff neck.
The Hayden Planetarium makes stargazing possible in the middle of New York City .
Made me feel like a kid again! Can’t beat Neil Degrasse Tyson narrating either
Go watch the space show … because you're obviously just there to hear Neil deGrasse Tyson nerd out about stars, right?

If you're checking a coat, give yourself lots of time. It's slower than the ticket line by a factor of two (at least).
Dark Universe - way too short but really beautiful. Supplement by (re)watching Cosmos .
Not as big as I thought it would be. Sit in the back, so you don't hurt your next. Whoopi Goldberg narrates .
Must must must must must go place in NYC
Cool show but I miss the big star projector .
The space show was great.
haven't been here in a while, but this place is AWESOME!!! It's even cool to look at from outside!
The Willamette Meteorite can be found in the Hayden Planetarium, and was subject to a lawsuit in 1902.
the new I max is great
Got rained out again!
The Planetarium itself is open after hours on certain days for special events .
Dark matter
They sometimes have a laser rock show that’s a real trip.
There's only one reference to Pluto in the building. See if you can find it.
The big bang show
Check out the night time calendar for cool after hours events , music and star gazing.
Find Neil DeGrasse Tyson and take a selfie.

The David H. Koch Dinos exhibit by far outdoes any other that I've seen! AMNH has an entire whole floor of dinos! Amazing hierarchies throughout the exhibit. They really condense a lot of information - ℳ????????♍
