元は讃岐高松藩松平家の下屋敷、明治時代は陸海軍の白金火薬庫、大正以降 1954 年までは白金御料地だった場所。現在はすっかり自然に還ってしまっていて、かつての大名屋敷の面影は池 泉だったと想定されるひょうたん池 と、その周囲の古松くらいしか残っていません。都心にあるとは思えないくらい緑豊かで夏でも涼しく、気軽に森林浴が楽しめます。北側は窪地になっているので、園内はそこそこ高低差あり。
讃岐高松藩松平家下屋敷跡。高松藩といえば御三家水戸徳川家の支藩で、庭園 といえば高松の栗林公園 ！とえる程の名庭園 を作った殿様達の江戸屋敷ですから。そういう意識で鑑賞しましょう。
有料大人300円 。一周30分くらいの小さな公園 。巨木がたくさん。池 や沼の水辺も。ロビーでは松ぼっくりが300円 で売ってるよ^^
1000円 で1年間いつでも入場できるリピーターズパスがあります。自然教育 園だけでなく上野の科学博物館 も入れるので、小学生がいるお宅はお得。
都内であることを忘れて、林の中をゆっくりと散策ができる
都バスを使うなら、白金台5丁目が最寄りです。
