The best time to see the Australian Bushwalk animals at their most active is early in the morning or late afternoon. During the middle of the day, they’re often resting in a shady spot.
See the Zoo by zebra...car, that is. Hop aboard one of our zebra cars for an hour-long guided tour of the Zoo . Prices apply. Book at the Information Centre (9am to 3pm).

Very nice Zoo . Most animals have adequate space. You can even see elephants running with a keeper .

Take a towel so the kids can cool off in the water play area , next to the central park and playground .

Lovely place to see lots of animals in their habitat
Have an up-close experience with Cotton-top Tamarins in the walk-through exhibit in the Lesser Primates area between 10am and 10:30am or 2pm and 2:30pm.
I love getting to the Zoo really early, before it opens. Hanging outside with my coffee from Mends St sometimes I catch the Gibbons singing their morning chorus... magnificent.
Overcome your fear of snakes! Come to the Reptile Encounter at 11:30 am and meet our scaly mates during this special keeper presentation.
Lots of good animals. I am impressed with how lazy those kangaroos are.
Keep your ears open for announcements during the day for special visitor experiences such as a pelican feed, emu bath or elephant walk.

Too big for a push-chair but too small to walk around all day? For just $13, you can hire a two-seater, pull-along wagon for the kids to sit in.
The lions often pace the windows at 5pm-ish. I suspect they know feeding time is approaching!
