The Rosco: March 2013 taco of the month. Eggs , waffle , fried chicken and bacon with maple syrup on the side wrapped in a flour tortilla . Interesting idea but a little dry since there's nothing else.

Obsessed with this place. They even let you change things on the menu if you have dietary restrictions like vegetarianism . I always went with the independent, Democrat ,tipsy chick. Try the queso too????

Essential tip: pick up a menu when you enter and make up your mind before you get to the counter. With so many options you will seriously hold things up otherwise.

Another great Torchy's! The queso is hands down the best queso I've had... I enjoy the republican and trailer park (trashy).

The Wrangler is actually pretty tasty. Lots of eggs and cheese but skimps on the brisket . Though unlike the Trailer Park , you'll need to add some sauce to give it some kick.

You must try the Jamaican Jerk Chicken taco ! While it's not exactly authentic Jamaican cuisine, you get a little sweet and tangy in every bite. A little like the Cuban tacos at El Rey on Washington.

One of my favorite Austin places, so glad they opened up a Houston location! The Republican is delicious (if you love sausage ) and so are ALL the breakfast tacos . My favorite taco place by far.

You must try the Dirty Sanchez! Trust the other reviews. The fluffy egg and avocados sets the stage for the meaty - tangy goodness that is above. Good all on its own without extra sauce!

Everything is great here!! Definitely one of our favorite casual places to eat and it is literally down the street from our place. Can't beat it!

omagahhh the independent is the best taco in the world. it has fried portobello inside which is delightful. also order some green chili queso and you'll be on cloud nine!

The Crossroad's brisket taco is fantastic! It's not just brisket wrapped in tortilla like the republican is with sausage . Great spin on this native Texan meat! Try it!

You don't like the Democrat or the Republican? Try the new Independent. It's about the best vegetarian taco you can get. ...get it with either large fried or grilled mushrooms .

Mr. Orange . Baja shrimp . Fried Avocado . Don't be surprised if you spend enough for a fancy meal, but it's so worth it.

Great food! Cool place, parking could be better, but its not that bad. People are in and out so just hold tight a min and you'll have a spot. Friendly staff too.

You will never, ever, go wrong with the green chile pork . It's the most solid thing on the menu. Mr. Orange is a close second.

Can't get enough taco fun? The tacos have so much meat you should double your fun. Just two extra tortillas is 25 cents! Split them yourself at the table. Yum.

If you MUST have the Ranch Hand, go right ahead. It's their beef fajitas on top of eggs and cheese . The fajitas are a little tough. Go to Chacho's on Westheimer if you want good fajita egg tacos .

I regret to report that Torchy's has KILLED the Chipotle pork carnitas burrito . This beast with a truckload of seasoned meat and guacamole is only $6.50. Eat it today.

The February 2012 taco of the month is the Double Wide. A chicken fried steak with bacon all around. This is the meal of the 1%!

One's a snack , two's a meal. Fajita tacos are awesome. Found the democrat to be just acceptable - texture was uninspired and it somewhat bland.

Google the secret menu for additional options. Also: great queso , and they offer a half-portion for $2.99.

Good food - cheap - and fast - but no f-ing parking . Always lots of UT fans. Hook 'em. But head to the Heights location instead.

The guacamole is good but not out of this world good like their queso . If there are enough of you, get both and mix!
