Just like their menu, this group of restaurants is expanding. This particular spot is definitely an Izakaya and has an amazing array of Japanese tapas - you must try the ankimo and the oysters .
Tonpeiyaki or okonomiyaki are recommended. So are the eel omelet , baked cheese curry , kushiyaki sheets, and cream korokke. But the grilled squid is not recommended. lots of japanese diners here, legit
Spectacular Japanese Izakaya . Only place with similarly delicious Atlanta sushi is Umi. Vast menu with various types of Japanese food . Great Shochu and sake selection .
Really good, authentic Japanese food . Spicy tonkotsu , beef sukiyaki don, chashu don, and sashimi regular were all amazing and worth trying~
one of the best ramen places in town . i liked the beef yanagawa and the grilled squid , which is a common delicacy in my hometown. they are usually packed, but we never had to wait long to be seated.
Shoya Izakaya is tasty authentic Japanese in a real Japanese ambience. I'm not a sushi person but the scallop , ramen , fried salmon , oysters , teriyaki chicken were all fresh and flavourful
The chicken skin salad , one of CL's 100 Dishes to eat in ATL, combines mixed greens and sesame dressing into a bowl of transcendence filled with a handful of golden-brown chunks of fried skin. Read more
Best was the Takoyaki , Agenasu Chuka (eggplant ), Menchi Katsu , Spicy Chicken Skewer , Spicy Gyoza soup..tried 2 sakes , was good but they're $22 for small quantity..awesome food tho
I came for ramen but had yaki soba instead. Really tasty. Also I had their tomago.. The best I had around ATL so far, freshly tasted egg . Yum!!
Shoya's encyclopedic menu, spread over seven crowded pages, will send you into a rapture of excitement or cripple you with indecision. Dishes tend to be surprising. Order away and see what shows up.
The only real izakaya in Atlanta, Shoya continues to impress with an immense menu full of every imaginable Japanese delicacy and a full on selection of yakitori . [Eater 38 Member]
Amazingly authentic food... everything was great. I did sashimi , another of my party did kabobs ... and the Ramey was fabulous too ♡
Super authentic izakaya restaurant . The atmosphere is relaxed, chill , and the food comes out fresh and hot!!
Amazing food, good service , be prepared to wait on the weekend!
This place is so much fun. Sitting upstairs is really cozy . Be prepared to wait on the weekends.
One of my favorite restaurants ever. Get some squid legs and spicy gyoza soup and be happy ^_^
If you want to have REAL Japanese food , this is one of the few places in greater Atlanta to do so!
Authentic Japanese food , very fresh sashimi , not really a good fan of the sushi . Highly recommend the Tayaki.
Very good authentic Japanese food and great interior. Looks like in Japan

The atmosphere is a lot of fun. The ramen is especially delicious.
Wow that was one of my best Japanese restaurants after being in Tokyo. Top! Like it.
Fried pork belly , chicken skins , and Chasau ramen were all great.
