El Cid has been in business since 1963. It was built in 1925 as The Jail Cafe with a prison theme with V.I.P. cells and waiters wearing guard costumes .
Great outdoor space for happy hour (cheap tacos ) and indoor club lounge place for music and flamenco dancing . Watch your step down.
Been around for ages. Great for a fun night out away from Hollywood. Good crowd. Great drinks.
Fantastic old Los Angeles venue. Just be warned the stairs going down to the entrance can be tough to navigate.
1920's jazz every Tuesday at 8pm (free before 8:30) highly recommended!!
The El-hattan is the best thing. Grab the tables in the balcony for a cozy birds eye view of the action.
Jamie (sp?) the flamenco dancer has the tightest body and cutest smile... She's so adorable! She alone is worth the price of admission to the flamenco show!
Love the changes they made, new management and chef are amazing! Definitely recommend this place!
LA Moth's StorySLAM happens here once a month. If you're a fan of the podcast, or that I'm-divulging-private-information-to-a-group-of-strangers feeling, it's a blast.
I only been there back in 2000. The food was great and the show was awesome. Music from Spain. Its pricey but its worth it.
Open mic night is a cool combination of music and stand-up comedy .
Meatballs and riblets were tasty. Brussel sprouts were a little too lemony.
Tuesday night traditional jazz at El Cid was excellent.
Really cute restaurant ! Food was ok, but I had happy hour small plates . Need to go back and try more!
New managers and New Executive Chef ! Come in and experience the new El Cid!
Everything I've tried here is good.
Sit outside on jazz night! It's chill with a group of four.
Great food, better service. Awesome venue.

Great music almost every night. Hard to go wrong.
1. Ask for Lauren!! 2. Say Chrissy sent you. 3. Tip her well . 4. Get drunk.
The music ????????
The booths are always fun in the back!
Short Film Night!
Awesome!!!!
The best tip I could give for El Cid is to go somewhere else.

LA Weekly's Best of LA 2010 pick - Best $30 Margarita !
Food service on the patio during the dinner show is a horrible idea. The wait staff could care less about us.
The food is mediocre and overpriced, we were overcharged as well and had to get the problem remedied. The service wasn't very good either. We DID win free drinks though, which we didn't use, but still
enjoy a drink on the luxurious patio . grab a booth if you can
Watch ur step walking in or u just might land & break a hipster
See Heino, enter beer contest and win!
Here for Jym Lyfes!
THEM! Thursdays oh ya
So amazing I almost shit myself.
Lucid every Sunday... 2pm to 9pm
Avoid the upstairs sauna during sold out shows.
expensive drinks, but not a bad venue
Overpriced beer , but the place reminds me of TJ or my Rosarito days in both good and bad ways.

Flamenko gösterisi harikaydı. Yemekleri güzel, mezelerden az az ortaya söylemek mantıklı. Ana yemek seçeneği kısıtlı. Sangria içmeden ayrılmayın
Try the tequila Ocho and Mandarine Napoleon margarita. It's so good! They have a cocktail with Atlantico rum too that's awesome. And the ancho Reyes Pierde Almas shot is spicy and smokey! - Alex Straus
Great jukebox and music. Nice vibe for a casual few drinks. Awesome bartender. - Hana Sato
Awesome food and people. Try their turkey sandwich on pumpernickel bread with cranberry aioli. So so good. Also they are now open during the day so you can stop by for lunch! - Lea J.
One of my favorite gay bars in LA! Nice bartenders, good drinks that aren’t expensive, fun dance floor, and a chill area with seating. - Michael Morgan
Great NYC style pizza. The annihilator has a great combo of flavors. Open super late and always consistently good. - Will Scholl
Attracts a fun and varied crowd. The hot bar staff doesn't hurt either! (I used to hold the mayorship even though I lived in San Francisco.) - Jim R
