One of the best cocktail bars in Shanghai , ask to go upstairs as soon as you enter, you'll have to wait for an hour or two but the best of the best is there (and it's a quieter affair than downstairs)

The bar on the 2nd floor is great but fairly standard. The amazing bar is on the 3rd floor. One drink minimum, but well worth it. Small spot with outstanding drinks. Go Wed. or Thurs. far less crowded

Janice Chow

One of the most popular speakeasy bars in Shanghai, cocktails are just alright. 3 different floors for 3 20s style speakeasy . took us 1.5hr to wait for a table on the 3rd floor.

Amber Zhao

This speakeasy place has been famous in SH for years. Great staff , great and interesting drinks. Easily gets crowded , be patient and you'll find your seat.

Yusheng

One of the owners used to be a manager at NYC's Angel's Share. The drinks on the 3rd floor (press hard on #10 on the map to enter) are solid, though the presentation can be a bit on the gimmicky side.

Yvette Liu

My favorite is the quintessence cocktail ! Overall the cocktails are really good! Nice old fashion speakeasy bar ! Can be chill for a date too! But a bit small make sure go there earlier!!

Christian D.

Excellent cocktails and great atmosphere. One of the best cocktail bars I have ever been to, you should not miss it. Ask to get to the third floor. Even better cocktails and even nicer atmosphere.

Andreas Reuther

Difficult case. The Nadis was the best cocktail I had in a long time, this alone is a reason to love this place. The rest was not soooo impressive, especially when shell out 120 RMB. Get the Nadis!

Lester Amara

The entrance to this bar is a secret door ???? Once you’re in, it’s 3 floors of absolute mixology and ambience. Try the Negroni Negro and Benton’s Old Fashioned . My 2 favourites to get the evening going

Layla

For the expectations we had, it was just a little too crowded and loud . However, the drinks were great and though a little rushed, the service was extremely friendly ! Loved the bubble tea w/ rum .

Brent Madison

I stuck with a whiskey regimen for the night, but you can't go wrong. This is one of my top stops in the world. Wonderful cocktails , each level brings a new twist (even the bar itself).

Dotty Doty

I loved it their. Finding it was a bit challenging. Though it made the whole thing worthy it . I met a guy there who became so crazy about me and paid for all my drinks. I love you Speak Low.

The second floor is worth the wait, more refined with rarefied spirits and Japanese-style attention to detail. Don't miss the Speak Low – Bacardi Superior, Bacardi 8, Pedro Ximenez sherry and matcha .

Thomas Mo

PDT and Employees Only on the door refers to some of the owner's other speakeasies in NYC. Find the button on the door to access level 3. Get acquainted with the owner to access VIP level 4.

Josh W

Walk in & get through the bookshelf. Then ask to get seated on the 3rd floor. When prompted to find the button to get in, press hard on 10. Smoke Gets in Your Eyes is indeed smoky in your eyes.

Speak Low is run by Japanese bartender Shingo Gokan and is one of a tsunami of new Shanghai bars . Prohibition-era bar culture has touched down in China, but this speakeasy does it best.

Ike Song

Amazing speak easy in Shanghai! Delicious food and even more Delicious cocktail . Try their xmas special Eggnog

Conrad Greiner-Bechert

Old Fashioneds with bacon ????. What a fantastic idea! I indulged in a Virgin Colada though. Great vibes, great place.

Nox N

The japanese mixologists make great cocktails . There are 4 levels.

Pascha Bhatti

Great speak easy bar . Open the book shelf to enter the first level, and don't by shy to find the bar on level three

Mike White

Fun multi-story speakeasy bar . Accessed from the back of a bar supplies shop. Inventive cocktails . Always crowded on weekends.

Ike Song

cocktails , whiskey and food are all amazing! The decoration is unique. Great hang out place for small party

Adam McNamara

The best cocktail bar in Shanghai . Yumi and Kris were both wonderful bartenders . Fantastic mixology .

Beeee

Listed this one to my fav cocktail bars , highly recommend!

Esther Van Houdt

Great vibe, nice professional staff - gorgeous cocktails !!

Teresa Thomas

Easily the best cocktails in Shanghai. Great service, welcoming staff . ❤️ Penny!

Dave

Very crowded already at 8 pm on Friday night! But great place!

Barton Smith

Great cocktails , great dimly lit space. Can get a little busy though.

Ukann Lam

Great little cozy and quiet place with very innovative and unique drinks, although a little pricy

Ehren Vokes

Extremely successful, you have to give it to them - they’ve created a concept that a lot of people are willing to wait and pay for. The problem is that it isn’t enjoyable. Good drinks, no fun.

Pascha Bhatti

Amazing cocktails , high quality service and fantastic creations. Top!

Filip

Hidden bar , really crowded and expensive , but worth to chill for a while!

Gökçe Sürmen

The cocktails are to die for. Especially Parmigiano Sour !

Ralle I

A hidden gem , best ever cocktails

Cigdem Cakci Robert

Gold Fashioned won the Bacardi Legacy Competition. Flirtibird for the ones who love strawberry ???? and tequila .

Tim Barnard

St. Thomas was great and Bananas Foster is quite a show. But the prices are pushing the limits, even for Shanghai.

Cheryl H

Drink menu is different from 2nd and 3rd floor (also try to figure our how to enter on 3rd floor)

Lixian Wang

Best cocktail I have had in Shanghai. No disappointment so far.

Christian D.

Excellent Cocktails and very nice atmosphere!

Tim Barnard

Lovely space upstairs, Incredible cocktails , zen-like staff .

Michael Marranzini

If you like to slide in to his or hers DM'S you're gonna love this place.

Piero Pollio

One of the best place cocktail bar in shanghai

Yuki Miao

Love "Smoke gets in your eyes""Thailand tea "

Go Find Alice

Amazing cocktails !

Alroy S

It has a good speakeasy , hidden, prohibition era vibe going on. But that's about it really. Cocktails were mediocre at best and staff weren't engaging. Does not deserve to be in the top 50 list IMO.

MG

Amazing drinks for this unique hidden gem !

Terry

Once the novelty of being in a speakeasy in SH wears off, you realize how ridiculous it is to pay 120 RMB for a tiny glass of Bloody Mary that tastes like medicine.

Douglon Tse

Only a nice place when there aren't too many people here, but that's not what the owners want is it

Gladys Chock

Taxi colada is very good!
