Beautiful 16th century townhouse with a maze of pillars and beams. All the beers are from Sam Smiths brewery .
The wine selection is poor and the cocktails are average, but the beer is good and the venue is beautiful. Lots of different rooms with fireplaces , nice decor & a huge courtyard . Dog friendly too!
Beautifully restored, steeped in history, a real gem for Gloucester. Polite staff , comfy chairs , good drinks.
I'd give this place 5 stars friendly staff the food was amazing would 100% recommend the beetroot Wellington
I used to work for Samuel Smith 's. Good beer , some lovely old pubs . Raikes house is steeped in history, and Smiths have spent big money modernising it. Enjoy. PS, Try the oatmeal stout !
The courtyard out the back is a real suntrap and a great place to enjoy the tasty Samuel Smith 's ciders in the summertime.
Very friendly welcoming staff .
What a shit hole. Nice building, but incredibly rude manager.
Quirky restaurant with great food and drink. Try the 3 sausage and mustard mash, for example. - Andrew Foster
Ancient courtyard inn. Shakespeare is reputed to have performed here. Great real ales. - Carl Griffin
