They've renovated and took over niwatei space (the restaurant beside it before), so it's a lot bigger! But they got rid of some stuff on their menu, including my favourite: the pork belly skewer ...
Good food. More valuable pricing than downtown options but not sacrificing any quality in service and food. Stuffed chicken wings and fried chicken soft bones are highly recommended.
Good uni and ikura don. On the pricy side but will come back to try the yakitori !
great authentic Japanese food ...my fav dish is Neba neba, Agedashi mochi (broth is flavorful) and the tuna sashimi is really fresh..have to make a second trip and try out the rest of the dishes:)
The Osaka omelette with pork belly is like a party in your mouth
Hiyashi chuka (cold sesame noodles ) was refreshing and decent. It had interesting toppings like jellyfish
Been to so many izakaya 's but this one is the best. So much flavor!!!
Chicken karage , fried fish balls , cold soba , green tea creme brule
The soup noodles are great! The takoyaki needs some work though- its too mushy and the squid inside is too miniscule.
Roasted green tea pudding to finish your delicious meal. Wow. Is that pudding real?
Takoyaki is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside
Roasted green tea pudding is amazing. Must try!
Over priced for the quality and portions. Comparing to stuff around Toronto this is quite expensive , food is not bad though. They do have a sort of a monopoly up here.
Sit at the bar to observe the good chefs at work! Grilled stuff is best!
udon here is pretty good. wait for them to shout "thanks for the business and pls come back next time" in japanese
Try the pan fried sweet sweet egg (tamago yaki), deliciously sweet.
Excellent food- Horrible/slow waitstaff and service!
Awesome chicken kaarage and octopus fried rice !!!
Try the chicken wing stuffed with dumpling
Is a must try....amazing food
Make reservations , and you can avoid a potentially long wait (especially on a Friday night).
I read the tips below so I guess I'll give an update. They do have a liquor license now.
Try the fried chicken wings stuffed with pork dumpling meat
Try the yakatori chicken wings with salt. Delicious
Salmon roe and sashimi on rice was really good!
Get the black cod !! It's nomnomnom!
Try the kamo-nan soba
Yakitori is a must try
Salted chicken gizzard
August 27 and the venue doesn't have a liquor license , which is really too bad.
Been coming here for years. The staff is great. I always get the Soy Sauce ramen. The gyoza is also nice. The chef does all the art on the walls- she's awesome! :) - Jen Martinovic
Get the Rare Cheesecake (made with yuzu and honey). One of the best cakes I've had. - Chris
Great place for Japanese groceries, condiments and snacks. They have some yuzu kosho products you can’t find at traditional Asian supermarkets. - Jason
Small place, fresh sashimi, delicious black sesame ice cream and mango ice cream mochi. Would recommend. - Sharon N
Vegetarian Ramen noodle soup is good. Add some spicy sauce. You need to order specifically that you want vegetable soup base otherwise it will be a pork base. - Kam Muralikrishnan
Favourite place for bubble tea. Wintermelon series is awesome. Roasted tea is also great. Donuts are okay. Free wifi - password posted on wall. - Charysse G. R
