This is a neat place for families. I been coming here since I was a kid. A really fun place for kids as well as a learning experiance for kids and adults of all ages. :)
if you're wondering so many monkeys : Joseph Prentice donated land for the zoo with the stipulation that the city must keep at least 50 monkeys at all times. Our other favs: the camels & the anteaters .
I had a great time with the Orange County Labor Federation despite the heat. The critters at the zoo were coping well with the heat. This Bald Eagle seems to have found a cool spot to perch .
Be sure to say "hello" to the blue and gold macaws near the primates . They'll respond with a greeting or two.
Very impressive collection of primates . And awesome anteaters !! Never seen them so close! Only $10 admission for adults.
After seeing the animals, the play area is a must do for little ones. Plus never saw a black and white swan!
Once inside buy combo train/carousal. Some nice picnic tables by ocelot exhibit
Small zoo but surprisingly extensive monkey exhibit

Great zoo . Ask for Jenny, she's the best zookeeper ! The owner of this zoo loves monkeys that's why these so many different kinds!
The gift shop people are very nice. Especially the one named Grant! Very kind and helpful.
Sunsets at the Zoo is fun in the summer. The beer garden is great too.
Really small zoo that is ok for young kids. Nice amusement section, but the train ride is a little lame for the wait.
If you arrive early enough, you can catch the White-Handed Gibbons being very noisy and climbing around.
Bring cash! $3.54 add on to Admission price if you use a debit/credit card. City of Santa Ana is taxing zoo patrons this way.
Picnic tables outside and just inside of entrance.
We had a blast! Great size for a 3 year old!
Seems small when you first enter but very well kept up and has a lot of variety in animals
The train may seem cheesy but it takes you by some enclosures that aren't accessible from the paths!
Gaby is amazing and very informative about the all things animal related especially the goats !
Low budget fun for family
