Modern building with good facilities makes perfect place for the permanent exhibits & the temporary, specialist exhibitions . Special Forces in March 2018 was particularly engaging & informative.
£2.50 an hour for the kiddies to let off steam in soft play (babies free). But worth booking ahead on website after school and weekends to guarantee a place.
Great new museum . Now reopened after a three year closure and a multi-million pound refurb. Loads to see and do for the whole family.
You WILL get lost, it's a bit of a maze. But there's somecool stuff, especially in the Napoleonic/19th century area, which was very quiet when I was there.

Great collections of everything war-related. It may take up a minimum of two hours to go through all of the exhibitions .
Amongst the uniforms, weapons and paintings on display is a huge model of the Battle of Waterloo in 1815, based on meticulous research by Capt Siborne who made and painted all the soldiers himself!

Extremely engaging, for young and old. Spend some time in the WWI trench. Grubby and chilling
