No beauty, but what a winner, serving the soothing, flaky Malay flatbreads known as roti canai , stuffed with egg , cheese , dal, curry or, ooh, caramelised banana . BYO for £5. Read more

As someone who grew up in Malaysia, I can attest that the roti canai (with dhall ) here is very authentic . Venue is cramped and chaotic but it's all part of the experience. Very good value .

Raquel de Meneses

THE LAKSA is out of this world. Life-changing. I have one here and ask another to take home with me, it's just that good. Oh. And the roti canai with lamb is mandatory. The place is called ROTI king.

Avneesh Kohli

This is a great hole-in-the-wall place to get authentic Malaysian food ! The roti canai special is perfect. You might have to wait in a queue so get there early!

Daren Williams

Malaysian atmosphere - tables, service, crowd and food! Roti was excellent - I preferred the dhall , wife preferred lamb ; spoil yourself with cheese or kaya . Rendang was tasty. Big queue, £10 corkage

Amy Y

The roti canai here truly lives up to the restaurant 's name. Mee goreng , teh tarik , kari laksa , and roti pisang dessert are not to be missed. Great value for money also, but be prepared to queue

Pauling Hee

Had the roti canai , curry noodles & teh tarik - everything was so authentic ! As a Malaysian, I can assure this place serves the best Malaysian food - it felt as though I was transported back home ????

Alvaro Rodriguez

The place can be a bit dodgy but the friendly staff and the incredible food totally deserves it. Ask for the Roti King menu if you don't get it at first. Roti + Chicken Curry and Laksa are the best!

Saif Hussain

It took an hour to get a table but once seated, we found the service to be fast and with great customer service, especially considering how busy they were. Most importantly, the food was delicious.

Wijdan Turkistani

You’ll aaaallllways find a long queue when you come here but trust me, the food is definitely worth it. Try the Kari laksa and Nasi Lemak ????????

Namit Chadha

Indo-malay done right. Delicious soft fluffy rotis served with small pots of curry . Don't miss the Roti Canai Special w Lamb .

Great tasting roti chanai. Small venue and very popular. Get there before 6pm unless you like waiting in the cold

Will Moore

Roti 's are amazing. Despite the price the roti canai and the special are plenty of food and the curry 's that come with them are gorgeous.

Hani Dhania

The murtabak and roti canai are to die for! Made fresh and tastes really authentic with the dhal and curry . Best roti canai in London indeed!

Zan Kat

The roti canai is delicious, and the desert roti too. Service was pretty good too. The place is quite small so the wait can be long.

Dunja

Mostly crowded , 30+ min wait at lunch / dinner time. Everything is super tasty, really authentic , the roti canai is divine and I’d recommend Kari laksa ❤️

Rylin Koey

Pretty authentic Malaysian food at reasonable price. Go for Roti Planta, Curry Laksa & Mee Goreng ! Nasi Lemak is so-so. Queue can be long during peak hours, especially on a Friday.

Yosh Talwar

Roti Canai is the best in London. Forget the rest of the menu, just order 2 Roti Canais and refuse to share.

Stephen Trimingham

A hidden gem so close to Euston. Cash only and worth the wait at busy times (between 10-30 minutes)

RRR

Roti canai are most often sold as street food , but they’re handmade and steaming hot, served with bowls of dhal, chicken Kari or mutton Kari for generous dunking.

Juston Payne

Oh my, that mee goreng is delicious. The roti canai is clearly wonderful, too, but leave room in your order for the mee goreng .

Swemeatballs .

Go with the roti canai or roti telur (egg ) or on its own with lentil dhal or chicken curry if it's your first visit. Otherwise the wholesome laksa is pretty tasty too

Juston Payne

Oh my, that Mee Goreng is delicious. The roti canai is clearly wonderful, too, but make room in your order for the mee goreng .

Jon Choo

In addition to the roti canai , the nasi lemak was pretty authentic as well . Generous portion and great value .

cui

???? best roti canai in London , hands down. get the kosong (plain) served with dhal! nasi lemak is nubbad. teh tarik seems to be of the powdered instant variety :( v limited seating .

Eddy Brosse

OMG. What a find!! Recommended by friends and not deceived. Tiny little gruby place with amazing food!

Plwm Bwm

Roti with lamb curry was delicious. Amazing value for money too

Tommy K

Cheap and amazing selection but super small. Expect to queue

Edwin Tan

Real Malaysian Food , Period. Come early or non meal times to miss the queue.

Kunal Shah

I loved the roti canai and other variants of roti , specifically the lamb filling. Nasi lemak was okay and i thought a bit overhyped. Teh tarik is quite rich with condensed milk used

Stephanie Choo

Authentic teh tarik and roti canai in an environment very similar to home.

Will Moore

They've smartened up the interior with tiles and benches but the prices remain as low as ever and the Roti Canai is still just as delicious.

K

You might have to wait to sit but it's worth it. Best to share several dishes with friends!

Jamie Smith

One of my favourite little hideaways in London (albeit a very well known one now!)

Shannon Low

Very good roti prata . Decent fried kway teow too. Good rendang too but a bit dry. All good value for money .

Hani Azahari

Tried sth new everytime i come here and have never been disappointed. My fav would be fried kuetiaw ????

KucingComel

Good roti canai here. As good as you can get in Malaysia.

Raci Murphy

Amazing Roti canai . Always a queue but well worth the wait. Bonus - super cheap !

Lisa Hayward

Roti was definitely worth the trip but our order of mee goreng never arrived at the table get they tried to charge us for it and no apology offered. Very surreal little place!

Imogen C

Roti , lentil curry . So cheap and tasty

Jennifer Hardi

Definitely go for the Mee goreng ! It's super delicious

Annie Yu

Definitely get the roti canai !! THE ROTI IS FRESH and I seriously wanted a second serving

Sarah Mills

So authentic ! When you’re missing Malaysian food , definitely head here for that bit of fix!

Karim Traiaia

Amazing food for a great price! The wait is totally worth it!

Ian Low

Roti king is kinda Meh. The roti is acceptable the curries are sub par with overcooked meat from really bad cuts. Only acceptable dish I would recommend is the mee goreng .

Jon

Go for the roti canai with dhal. Side order of one of the other rotis if you are extra hungry....

Wijdan Turkistani

Big portions for affordable prices . THE FOOD IS AMAZING.

Shimah Ghani

Authentic . Wonderful staff . Crowded n cramped but you walk out smiling.

Kasia Koczułap
