Great place for a fun BYO ! Very accommodating, sans corkage fee , w/ top-notch food: The roti canai is a MUST have and you can't go wrong w/ curry tofu , pad thai , or pineapple fried rice as entrees!
Banana Leaf is one of our favorite restaurants in Philly! Not only is the atmosphere great, their Roti Canai is to die for! Lastly, its BYOB - so bring your own bottle of wine or beer and enjoy!
Spicy crispy squid appetizer is delicious - love biting into the crispy tentacles , po piah, nasi lemak , beef rendang , seafood casserole , coconut pudding served inside a young coconut . explore!
Great for large parties trying to get rowdy. Def go family style and get lots of green curry . The pre-meal crepe and curry they serve is a delicious little treat.
Start with the roti canai ! For an entree I had Hokkien Char Mee and it was delicious. I also tried the pad Thai that my friend ordered, which was also really good.
The roti canai and chicken satay for appetizers never fail. Among the main course try the singapore noodle or thai basil , they are my regulars. Donot forget to taste the lychee juice .
Fantastic. We had fired pork intestine , which was sooo good. The chicken satay was very tasty. We also recommend the fried squid .
Solid renditions of virtually everything I tried. The Singapore-style vermicelli was fragrant with hint of curry but not nearly as oily as it too often is around town . Read more
Considering the levels of drunken sloppiness they tolerate, the food is surprisingly decent. A classic BYO destination for a reason
Delicious everything and great service! They were friendly and patient with my rambunctious 2 year old, means a lot. We will be back!
This is one of my go-tos in Chinatown. My Malaysian friends say this is closest thing to home. Love their mango dishes and Mee Siam . Definitely give the Pad Thai a try, it's a different take.
My top picks are: Satay Tofu , Roti Canai , Hainanese Chicken , Kang Kung Belacan , & for dessert Peanut Pancake .
Delicious beef satay . Chewy roti canal - was very tough to pull apart . Tom yum soup was very sour - good if you like it that sour.
Roti Canai banana leaf chicken and Kangkung Belacan were all outstanding
Spicy crispy squids . They will warn you they have tentacles , you will reassure them that it's fine, and they will be crunchy, sweet and delicious.
The food here it to die for! Make sure you order the Roti Canai , which appears to be one of the most popular dishes here!
Used to be a favorite of mine before I found a cockroach in my pad Thai , after raving about how delicious it is and how great the restaurant is. The manager and waitress were quick to respond
My fav byo ! Don't miss the Roti . Almost everything is good, yet to find a dish that has disappointed
The mango tofu here is probably my favorite food in the world. They even serve it in the mango ! Get the coconut rice and some sushi too! Open till 1am and they do takeout .
Best won ton soup I've ever had. Roti canai is a must-have; they can give you vegetarian dipping sauce if you ask. :)
Great. Favorite: Loti Canai, good chicken patai (spicy !), fried rice pineapple .
Love this place, I never get the same thing, and everything is great!
Extra spicy pad Thai is pretty great.
Their ABC is great: it has palm seeds (attap chi).
If you're from Oz, NZ or Singapore the laksa is Asam fish soup laksa not our favorite curry soup . Choose the Curry Sliced Chicken Noodle instead.
The beef green curry in a clay pot is amazing. Also the Roti Canai and the Satay chicken .
Get the Malaysian Pork Chops and The water spinach with bean curd !
Sliced chicken curry noodle soup is divine, especially when you have a cold.
Everything is awesome.... But for desert , get the fried ice cream !
Go boneless for the curry chicken . they also seem to like refilling your water after each sip you take..
BYOB yes please & Roti Canai is awesome!
BYOB with good, inexpensive food
Even after we tipped the waitress (not the one that served us or took our order) 15% of our bill, she demanded a larger tip, when trying to explain, she pointed her finger and told us to "shut up."
Can't believe no one mentioned the Singapore noodles . Some of the best I've had
Don't leave without getting the ABC for dessert ! The crispy squid tentacles are good too!
Mango chicken was excellent
Roti Canai , Fish Head Curry , Kang Kong
Wait staff is beyond pushy. They asked is we were ready to order 12+ times within 7 minutes. Easy killer!
Rowdiest BYOB restaurant you'll go to
Open till 1am , the Tom Yum is spicy and delish.
Nice curry and pork . Thanks for keeping my bag I lost here.
Get the Indian pancake and don't share! Not the best atmosphere, but the food is amazing.
Go for a variety of dishes so you can have a taste of this cuisine...
Very misleading that they use American Express check presenters and don't accept American Express.
Thai basil chicken and roti canai !
Chicken curry noodle soup is great for sinuses!
To lady on the phone talking and ignoring all else, you got my order wrong! Like the food but the boss should pay more attention to who he staffs in the front.
Pad Thai is delicious!
Huge portions
Try the Wanton noodles . Finish off with ABC dessert .
