Last two menu pages have the authentic stuff. Portions are HUGE!!! Fish filet with chilli and sprouts was very good. Crispy pork belly , not so much. Not crispy , VERY fatty. Dumplings are delish.
Everything is AMAZING here! And please, take this very sincere review from someone who was born in China and grew up eating authentic Sichuan food . #NuffSaid I love every single dish from this place!!
Big-ticket items such as “braised whole fish filet with soy bean sprouts in roasted chili spiced broth” and “Braised lamb filets with napa cabbage and roasted chili ” are worth the larger tab. Read more
The mapo tofu here is the best version of it I have ever had. Can't go wrong with the fish and sour cabbage soup , lamb with cumin chili sauce , green beans w veggie buds
The Braised Fish Filets w. Napa Cabbage & Roasted Chili belongs to an elite class of foods defined by the fact that when you consume them, it is impossible to fathom consuming anything more delicious.
Most authentic Chinese in Midtown E. / Upper E. Side. Try the cold appetizers such as Spicy Beef Tendon or the Sesame Noodles . If you want to be adventurous, order the Spicy Wok Tossed Duck Tongue .
The usual standards—ma po bean curd , Sichuan wontons , tripe and tongue in chili oil , dan dan noodles—are here rendered in lush form Read more
Deeply flavored renditions of both classic & more unusual Sichuan fare presented with class . The hot dishes are indeed as hot as they should be, but the profusion of other flavors balances the burn.
Best enjoyed with a group of friends sharing the different authentic dishes from the last page. The lamb filet w napa cabbage and chili is a must.
Worthy of the hype. Had the stir-fried string beans (plus ginger , garlic , plenty of salt, orange ). And dried chicken wok... super moist and tender, plus chili oil , bok choy , taro )
If you aren’t afraid of a little spice (alright, a lot of spice) dare to try the Braised Lamb Filets With Napa Cabbage andRoasted Chili . It ranks number 8 on Robert Sietsema’s top lamb dishes in NYC.
The food packs a serious punch utilizing chilies and Sichuan peppercorns . Cough up the cash for big ticket dishes like the braised whole fish filet with soy bean sprouts in roasted chili spiced broth.
Mm really enjoyed the dan dan noodles and 蒜泥白肉 (sliced pork belly ) but still not as good as cafe china
Very authentic Sichuan place. not too salty! Amazing lunch special . Get the fish fillet with chilis or beef with Asian peppers . Wonton soup is really oily.
Lunch specials are only on weekdays. Their Mapo Tofu and garlic string beans are best vegetarian entree. Delicious food.
Solid Sichuan dishes are served up in a better-than-average dining room. The Shredded Beef with Green Peppers and Mapo Tofu are safe orders.
Get the Wok tossed chili chicken - now!!! It's absolutely out of this world!
Great Dan Dan Noodles and the chilled cucumbers in garlic and vinegar and a little sesame oil are amazing. Now they have a liquor license!
Love that the food is as spicy as they say it is--not always so! Fresh and wonderful seafood
Spicy Szechuan cuisine . The lunch special (11:30-3:30) is very reasonable and the portions are generous.
Affordable Sichuan in midtown. The stir fried five spice tofu is a vegetarian dish for carnivores.
I love any of the fish options! But the dumplings and scallion pancakes are the true winners.
Steam juicy pork dumpling . Shrimp Lo Mein . Orange beef . Stir fire string bean . Prawns with walnuts .
Haven't had a bad dish yet. Try the stir fried string beans or the spicy orange chicken - you won't be disappointed!
Stir fried string beans , steamed juicy pork dumplings , minced pork w noodle in broth
Smoked wok tossed spicy chicken was the bomb in my mouth!
Try the peanut noodle , cucumber appetizer and soup dumplings !
Good Chinese restaurant close to Roosevelt island . The only drawback is that they don't do delivery to the island :(
Believe the hype. The food is very flavorful here!
Scallion pancakes were an awesome appetizer . Great food and service was good.
Service is sporadic but the food is delicious—many traditional dishes available (conch , jellyfish ).
Very authentic Sichuan food restaurant . Highly recommended.
The whole fish with spices and peanuts was incredible!
One of NYC's top Sichuan restaurants
Chicken with black bean sauce was very tasty.
Smoked wok tossed chicken with roasted chili , chili , chili !
Food is on the expensive side considering they don't seem to use fresh ingredients (do not order the mushrooms !!). A good wonton soup though.
Ridiculously good ma paul tofu and the pork belly with chili-soy and lamb hot pot weren't too shabby either.
Come say hi to John, Mike, Neil and me! We live upstairs and love this Chinese food !
try their fish , it's spicy but not to a point where you have to drink water every other bite!
Spicy fish filet with tofu was awesome!
Love fish and duck dishes here
Get the pork belly lunch special . Trust me
Great food good prices
Quick and cheap for lunch but nothing to brag about
Mia Dona's Chinese replacement. The space is the same with the previous rustic decor . Food isn't bad tho I did a takeout . Need to dine in next
Terrible, impatient service. Once refused to sit down half hour before closing time. Not recommended at all for vegetarians .
Real good lunch specials .
Great orange chicken
Good food, fast.
best szechuan restaurant in NYC. soft opening this week and already hour waits. get the beef and tripe appetizer, spicy pickled fish stew, spicy potato strings, and pea shoots. - emily chen
