Could've easily spent the whole day here - make sure to pace yourself. Do the permanent exhibitions first so you'll have more context for the temporary ones when you get to them.
If you want to learn about South Africa , this museum is a must visit place.
A linear experience of apartheid history in Southern Africa. In the road to Joburg ramp of mirrors visitors from around world see themselves embodied as locals and thus part of the rich history.
Excellent permanent exhibit and even better temporary exhibit on Mandela . Make sure to walk through Mandela exhibit in order from birth to death. It’s confusing the other way. Maybe do Mandela second.
I mean it is a magnificent museum and a total history of the country between 1947-1994. This is the top of the list for Johannesburg.
Takes 2 hours at least to watch all videos and documental. Worth it, nice guys from the cafeteria friendly and polite.
Very good museum about the history of apartheid in SA. Should spend half a day here to read thoroughly and watch the interviews.
Embark on an unmissable journey through the long history of South Africa , from the first human settlements to the birth of democracy and contemporary challenges. A powerful experience. Read more
Must see to understand South Africa . Sobering experience. Also to realize it was not that long ago. Take your time here!
Νot to be missed when in Joburg . Unique historical museum .
A must visit in Johannesburg. Beautiful museum with great structure
The Apartheid Museum is an important learning tool for all those who live in or are even just visiting South Africa . Learn more about our country 's complex history.
Excellent museum even though it tells of a sad history
Allow a few hours to take in this in. Hard to believe the Mandela exhibit is temporary, would recommend seeing it before it is replaced.
Take your time with this place. So many stories that make up the history of this wonderful country . Confronting but altogether enlightening.
A must-see for visitors. Takes at least 3hours to get through it - actually more. Nice gift shop .
Very impressive museum . You get a white or black ticket at the entrance.
It's very emotional, full of great Mandela 's works. Hope this never happens again anywhere else
Insightful timeline of South Africa ’s history and Nelson Mandela’s journey
Need 2h to visit. It gives you a look to all apartheid movement in south africa
Well organized

@Joburgredbus city tour for Christians birthday party
Bring tissue and and your heart. What a moving experience
Always fascinating history.
Very disappointed in this museum , it does a terrible job telling the story of South Africa 's founding. The museum completely omits the truth and reconciliation commission.
Nice but really sad history .
Nicely presented
History of s Africa
Learn all about the history of apartheid and how it informs our current reality. We must never forget.
Cultural connection
you got to see this one
???? Awesomeness!!
Would be nice if there was a tour guide
A must see
A faire absolument .
Excelente muestra
Vale a pena conferir
Het museum was best wel apart he he he
Everything about this place it's awesome if you haven't been there I recommend that you go and enjoy life at its fullest!!! - Elvis Walter Langa
Mandela’s house, on the same street as Desmond Tutu’s house. Good tour by volunteer guides showing us around the various rooms and the yard. - Yarn Lam
