Found this truck across from the Vista Theatre in Los Feliz on Saturday. Fried Chicken on a piece of bread with picked. Order white or dark, select your spice & grab a side. Had the dark (thigh), yum!
Parking only takes cash. Validate!! Also, the chefs counter is by far the best place to eat. Even if it takes a bit longer, wait for it. Much different experience. YES CHEF !!!!
Great hidden gem , one of the best fried Chicken i ever had in my life, the buckle is the first thing to taste, the wings was outstanding the half chicken is huge for one person, the Mac Salad is great
That chicken sandwich is the best damn sandwich in the friggin' world... Seriously, it's good AF. Get it mild to enjoy the taste. If you must try the Howlin' level spicy , just get a wing on the side.
Absolutely delicious, but anywhere hot or above is really really hot. If you are getting something on one of these hear levels, GET SWEET TEA . Sandwich and wings .
For a taste of Nashville-style hot chicken , a fried chicken concept with a kick, check out Howlin' Rays in Chinatown. The savory, spicy flavor concoction is even served with waffles on the weekends. Read more
Their chicken sandwich is incredibly crispy , thick, and juicy, & the fries are perfectly seasoned/crispy. Note that even the mild heat level is spicy . It's a takeout spot and there is always a line .
Hot is actually pretty hot - I'd do the medium. Food is great but I wasn't sure it was worth the insane wait, that is until the crew really went above and beyond to make sure we had an amazing time!
Always a looong line but totally worth it (waiting could extend to 2 hours) best chicken burger ! But too spicy , always go one level down from what u usually eat in other restaurants
That spicy chicken sandwich (level: HOT) deserves all the hype. If you don't mind the noise, heat, and general pandemonium, grab a front row seat at the bar .
No matter what piece of chicken you order here, the seasonings are the same and the flavor is awesome. The only thing that differs is the spiciness level chosen so order any piece and chow down.
Biggest hot chicken sandwich you will ever eat. If you love spicy food , get the HOT. Anything above that is for experienced foodies only. ????????????
Hands down the best fried chicken I've ever had. Also as someone who can generally handle spice, the hot is actually hot so be weary of going more intense.
The Sando , and quarter chicken , both medium spicy . SO GOOD! Worth the 2+ hour wait.
Always a long line , but always worth it! The chicken sandwich is life changing and their heat levels are no joke. Save yourself with their peach tea and definitely order extra comeback sauce.
Vegetarians - this isn't a place for us. I was with a group, and after waiting in a line for 45 minutes, the staff offered me a free potato salad when they realized I didn't order anything!
Task Rabbits FTW. "Mild" is plenty of kick for most, "Hot" is an adventure. Chicken ordered "Howlin" includes gloves and usually a free side of mac salad . Eat Scoops right after to kill the heat.
If you still wanna be tasting your chicken , go with ‘medium’ or ‘medium plus’ spice level - anything above numbs all sensations in your tongue ???? best fried chicken I’ve had in this country tho!
Chicken is legit. Don't cheat yourself out of trying the greens. They do them right.
There will probably be a line , visited on a Friday afternoon, at 3pm, and waited in line for approx 30 min. This was in early July, they opened at the end of April.
The mild is good and enough spice for the average person who isn't afraid of heat but still wants to taste their food. Hot is already very hot, I can't imagine what X-Ray feels like!
Who knew you could get "Hot Chicken " in Los Angeles. Pick your heat level. (mild, medium, hot, & extra hot.) I went for the hot & was pleased.
The Sando . Medium. Get taro fries from Baohaus next door. The sweet starch pairs well with the fire in your mouth.
Best tasting chicken ever! Period. No competition!
The Sandwich ! The hot buns are on point. Any order of fried chicken will be amazing.
Get the Nashville hot chicken - go when they open in the mornings to avoid the wait.
Chicken sandwich medium is perfect level of spicy . This place really lived up to the hype
Go with hot. Hot would be medium in Nashville. The sides are mediocre, but the fries are the best choice.
"Medium" wasn't spicy enough for me. I'm not a chili/hot sauce freak and I could easily finish my sandwich without anything to drink. Maybe the "hot" starts at "Hot"?
Alright guys, the fried chicken is good, like really good. But it's not two-hour-wait good so no, not worth the long ass line . The medium heat isn't that spicy . Sando is alright. Get some fries too.
Opening in 2 weeks!
Sando - medium heat, peach tea and fries
The staff is great! The food is amazing!
Their fries are so good!!
Expect 1-2 hr wait. Fave: the sandwich - medium spice , wings - hot
Everything is good. You can not go wrong
This is place is so good . Chicken is off the chain!!!
Great spicy crispy fried chicken
Got the hot. Seasoned perfectly and wasn't too spicy .
Great chicken and waffles on weekends!
Do note there is always a long line . Plan an hour wait to be safe.
Customer service was bad today 9/24/16 @2:41pm....didnt feel welcomed... Didn't feel anything... Hopefully food is good... Been to other places were things are better explained
The best fried chicken ever!????????????????
The sandwich + a wing
Fried chicken and everything else
Go early or go home.
The hot is, hot!
Best fried chicken in history
Hot chicken sandwich yo!
I love their daily rotating menu. Try the Jackfruit Lemon... refreshing, crisp lemon taste that doesn't overpower the sweet jackfruit. Yum! - K Lundell
Super minimalist space tucked away in the back of this shopping center. Excellent traditional coffee options as well as some house specific Asian fun. Best coffee in Chinatown for what it's worth! - Thomas Colton
Pretty good! cheap n fast♥ mango green tea with boba ;) service was friendly~ - Jinnie L
Everything was delicious; spicy juicy fried chicken, greens, mac n cheese...need to add cornbread to the menu! - Michelle Mixson
Chicken perfection, everything on this simple menu is delicious. It's a small, but super friendly operation--they know how to season chicken! - Deema
Howlin' Ray's gets crazy long lines, but don't sleep on Baohaus or Chego, as they're pretty terrific and have far shorter waits. - Matt Dicker
