A good variety of animals and very reasonably priced! Can't ferment which free tourist guide you get from the airport bit they have a coupon to get ¥200 off per ticket and regular price is only ¥600!
Old zoological garden in a great Ueno Park . The variety of species is not so great and the zoo feels outdated and time-worn but it has shoebill and great pond .
You travel with children, you must visit here. We spent all day here and my children loved it so much. There are some animals they have seen only in movies and they found here
Hana Yori Dango brought me aaaall the way here. Haha! It was exciting to see Tsukasa's so-called “doppelgänger” (as mentioned in the drama). JDrama fan aside, the zoo itself is big and worth visiting.
Nice place to go and ser animals for a couple of hours. They have a Panda and many other animals that i've never seen!
A lot of different animals for a very low admission price! You can easily spend 2-3 hours here. If you want to take the monorail to cover some distance fast, you'll have to pay 150 Yen.
great place for family, kids, dates, or hanging out by yourself. enclosures are good for the most part, and they have all the old favourites plus an okapi and some aye-ayes.
You can see very healthy gorilla and big panda in this Zoo , must visit when you go to Ueno. Entrance fee just ¥600 for adults a
A nice walkable zoo . The cages are disappointingly small for most animals. Skip the line for the pandas , it you go on the right hand side you can still see them without the wait
Zoos are wonderful, but they are especially wonderful if the animals seem happy. This is the case for Ueno Zoo .
The main attraction is the pandas ! This area can get crowded though. Apart from that there's a variety of animals and the entrance fee is reasonable.
Not a big zoo , but have various species as exhibitions . From birds to mamals but the star is endangered super cute creature from china, yes its Panda , prepare for long queue to watch it#TravelingTokyo
Great place for kids and only ¥600 for adults . Make sure to check when animals go to sleep if you come in the afternoon so you don't miss them.
Everything! Beautiful birds, monkeys, sea life , and more. Many cages are very spacious ????
seems everyone loves the panda the tiger exhibit is also very good so check that out before leaving
Enjoy Ueno Zoo in autumn, eat Panda rice and kiss through the window giant pandas
Worth visiting zoo . Cheap entrance fee. Variety of animal . Love it
The zoo is well kept and the animals are ver well taken cared of.
Nice zoo with lots of interesting animals. This is a great way to spend some time in Ueno Park .
The gorillas are must see if at the zoo .
Pandas , gorillas, seals, and baboons were awesome - the second part of the zoo not so much, but still worth the trip!
if i could i would live here! lol! no but i love this zoo of all the zoo 's they have here, even my mom loves it! :)
Heartbreaking to see all those birds, monkeys, tigers, lions locked up in those tiny cages , esp the magestic elephants. Shame on you Japan!!!!!
It was a great experience to get to see a panda for the first time, but totally sad to see so many animals in little cages . :(
Huge zoo and such good value . Also sakura ice cream in the amusement park out front
Entry fee is rather cheap and of course everybody loves pandas . Unfortunately the zoo is not really up to modern standards.
Great zoo . Watch out for the tiger ! Ps. The red panda is too cute 9/10
When I went the Panda was a main attraction - in other words a very long line . Save time a consider skipping it ????
Entrance fee approx ¥600. Great value for money !
This zoo is huge -- there's a monorail between both sides. So many different animals. Cool, but most of them seemed bored or lonely.
Show passport for discount , receive tokyo guide book for additional discounts for museums .
Cheap entrance but the zoo is a bit old. Animals have small cages and look sad and bored. They have a polar bear under the hot sun. If you have seen other zoos around the world you can skip this one.
All the animals here are cute and some can be touched!
Panda feeding around 11:30am is worth cueing for.
Baby strollers can be rented near the panda exhibition . 300yen for the day.
I recommend you to bring your own food, especially if you have young kids. For a small picnic the rest area beside the lake is the best
Cute animals, long trail , good for half day experience
It was fun...but the a good number of the cages/habitats seemed way too small for quite a few of the bigger animals????☹️
They have a big aquarium for the polar bear and sea lion.. it's fun!
Not expensive and huge zoo , take a full day if you want to take your time
Lots of animal! But some of them are quite old, so they are managed to be on the display only a few hours.
Some animals in great exhibits ... others not so much.
This Zoo was depressing. The animals are mostly in small areas and look very sad. If you come to tokyo this Zoo could be off your list. The only good thing is that it is cheap .
Very nice zoo and really worth a visit!
We are not feel happiness with this zoo ...
Yesterday was Ueno Zoo 's establishment day and free entry for everybody.
Hanged out for the morning. Animals are well treated.
600 yen entrance ticket is worth as the zoo 's quite big enough to explore at least half a day.
Nice zoo with giant pandas !
Pandas were a bit of a disappointment. They're in separate cages and we're asleep when we saw them around 1pm
Try to go during the week, gets very crowded on the weekends. Nice opportunity to see a panda - Caraqueño
Great animals everywhere! The butterfly sanctuary was unique and amazing too. - Hide Kawano
a cosy tiny zoo in the park. meet one of the oldest elephant. - Junichi Uozumi
リスだけでなくうさぎ、モルモット、カメなどいろんな動物がいます。モルモットのふれあい(有料)では10分ほどモルモットについての教育コーナーがあるのが珍しく素晴らしいです。 - swiiitch
Fantastic park, especially during hanami season! Google Map helps to figure out if it's a full bloom season or not yet. Crowded, but I enjoyed the atmosphere. You can see some street performances. - Elena Kiseleva
Beautiful foliage all over this lake. Lots of very cool photo ops! Peaceful and serene. - Jason H.
Absolutely amazing. One of the best Nature Museums I ever visit. Not so big, but they have very good collection. - Irene M
