UCLA Inverted Fountain

UCLA tradition holds that freshmen are "initiated" by being told to touch the water, and then forewarned that doing so again before graduation will tack on an extra quarter to their academic career.

A unique feature at UCLA that adds the sounds of a mountain stream to the south end of the campus, the Inverted Fountain was created from multicolored rocks hand-picked in the San Gabriel Mountains .

The Inverted Fountain was inspired by the natural hot springs in Yellowstone National Park . The fountain re-circulates 10,000 gallons of water per minute.

A talented USC architect designed this fountain ... All students complain it looks like a toilet bowl. Then they lay around in it senior year. (Subtle "fight on"?)
