The park was opened in 1965 to the public as an independent agency of the state of Alabama. Since then, more than 13 million visitors have trod her decks and stood in awe of her majestic presence. The submarine USS Drum, a World War II veteran with 12 Battle Stars, joined the USS Alabama in 1969.

Great tour . Follow the written instructions after reviewing the map which is inside the ship. Recommend following the tour to make sense of the ship layout. Many people do not...messes up the flow.
Amazing museum and ship. The entire park is worth double the admission. The walking tour is self guided and really simple to follow give time because it's huge.
The USS Alabama Memorial is an amazing stop if you are anywhere nearby - it's definitely worth the trip. You can pick up a 2$ off coupon sometimes at the travel ad racks in local places!
The tour of the ship was great. Showed what life on the ship was like. saw everything from the brig to the hospital . Sit in the gunner's seat, climb around all the decks and watch the battles unfold
Really neat if you’re into history and historical sites . It interesting and you get to board the ship and look around. There’s a souvenir shop there too. Kid friendly .
The battleship is very cool. But the vibe, particularly in the aircraft building is “love it or leave it”. USAF museum in Dayton was more balanced. Civilian museum should follow suit.
It was amazing!! The ship is huge, and there’s a lot to see! Get there early, it’s an all day event !!!!
Parking $4 entrance fee $15 adults veterans and active free! Superb view on the ship. Highly recommended!
Be sure to pick up a Tour Guide upon boarding and entering the ship. There are three different colors of arrows to follow for the desired tour . You can get turned around on the ship.
Simply amazing and packed with historical information!!
I never pass up an opportunity to stop at this battleship when I visit Alabama. You get a feel of what it was like to be on the ship during WWII. See the soldiers beds, clothes , weapons, etc.
You'll definitely want to commit quite a few hours for touring . Lower levels of the ship will get really stuffy with uncomfortable air conditions , just be aware! It's very interesting though.
You know, it's the big ship you always pass on the I-10 but never stop to see. Make it a point to stop and see, it's worth it. Great family outing .
Great place to visit! The battleship (obviously) and the submarine are great stops, plus quite a few planes and tanks.
Y'all are Marxists for denying access for a Rally for the President of the US! Taxpayer support should be cutoff. What a slap in the face of our military who have given their lives for our freedom.
Really cool, go check it out if you have the time!
Military take advantage! Free Parking with ID also free entery to tours . Also family is discounted as well !
The battleship is amazing, just be prepared to do a lot of walking & sweating!
Plan extra time to explore the belly of the ship everywhere you turn there is something cool to see and hard to loop back to catch something you may have skipped.
All kinds of neat stuff, you can spend a few hours easy
Try the jet simulator and have an umbrella just in case it rains.
Thoroughly enjoyed. Great history. A must to see.
Come here on Memorial Day weekend. A lot of veterans here. Pretty honored to be in their presence. Saw a WWII vet and got teared up.
So much fun! Excellent experience for all ages!
When in south Alabama, make sure to visit this historic treasure .
Really awesome spot to check out!
Great history. No air conditioning so don't go when it's hot.
A large portion of the ship tours is currently under renovation and closed (don't know for how long)
Great self guided tour and our 6 year old son had a blast.
Download the free mobile app. It saved us from getting turned around several times.
Cool place. The ship was airplanes were fun to see.
Nice piece history. Kids loved the ship.
The Duck Tour was great!
Fun to go to more than once..you always find something you missed, especially if you didn't follow the tour correctly. Oops, lol
A true historical treasure ! A living museum !
Great for history buffs and anyone interested in the military .
Been there before. It's a great visit.
An excellent place for a Cub Scout Pack trip. Be sure to check out the Submarine while you're there.
So cool to tour a piece of history!
A great place to take your out of town guest .
Sounds great on paper, but these historical treasures are managed by a bunch of armatures. I'd avoid, unless you feel like crying yourself to sleep due to the horrible condition of these relics.
MOVIES: "The Hunt for Red October" was filmed on the USS Alabama, as well as most scenes from "Under Siege"
Make sure you visit the submarine , its quite amazing.
A great museum !! And a Battleship
Make sure you have comfortable shoes for an all day of walking ;)
Lots of history here- bring the family!
Take a day out on the Bay . Great for the kids.
So much fun!
Very sweet to see!
Don't miss the submarine !
