Swallow Café

Good food, nice people, good hipster watching, and I once had a dream where this place was the secret 36th chamber of shaolin and Gordon Liu from Shaolin Master Killer was the head barista. Weird.

BAGELS. They do overdo the cream cheese some, but they're cheap and they have a ton of flavors. The pumpernickel with peanut butter or everything with lox spread and cucumber are great choices.

Bushwick , you're starting to get to us. We love this cafe just by the Morgan Ave stop and Hello to today's cappuccino - sooo good!

staff is super nice and friendly . they have great chai & bagels are good too. cash only , but atm towards the back.

The bathrooms are in the back hallway. Grab the key by the bussing table. If there is a guy blowing his nose for a long time in the bathroom don't worry, he will come out soon.

Nice laid back atmosphere . They have wifi too, so you can bring your laptop for some work

CASH ONLY (no bank in sight, lots of sketchy ATMs though). Otherwise, great coffee and bites, lovely place to work from, wi-fi is great, lots of outlets.

Pretty sure Edgar Allan Poe would have hung out here! Great cold press Iced coffee with soy milk . Free wifi . Dim and cool inside.

To get bagels , you gotta be there early, like before 10am. WiFi is a bit spotty, but there's room to work there compared to the other cafes

Note the mountain and hooks for ships left over from Tripoli (now in the basement ).

Ok place to work , but pretty dark. Ok bagels too, and good coffees , but the vegan oat cookie sandwich to go is indeed a sugary win.

Super Americanos ! There's always a great selection of cookies for those so inclined.

The corn muffins are buttery & particularly delicious. Especially at the end of the day when they're free. I *heart* Swallow.

Bagels are soft and fresh and delicious.

You can still get a cafe Au lait even though it's not on the menu !

The theater seats at the far end of the room parallel to the counter stop being comfortable after about 2 hours.

Jasmine tea was really good and was brewed perfectly.

Baristas are bitchy but they usually run out of bagels later than cafe Orwell down the street. This is my last resort coffee shop .
