This is the best zoo in the country . It has the largest indoor desert , swamp, and rainforest in the world. Other highlights include an amazing aquarium , gorilla valley, and view on the chairlifts !
Absolutely incredible. Great value and beautiful exhibits . If you are claustrophobic I would avoid the aquarium on the weekends. It can get very tight in the walkway. But for good reason. Beautiful.
Definitely expected it to be "just another zoo ", but I was wrong. It was easily the best zoo I've ever been to. It's huge and modern, and they have some very rare animals.
Very large zoo . You easily can spend all day here. If it’s rainy or cold you can basically stay inside for 1/3 of the zoo between the dome, jungle, aquarium , butterfly and gorilla buildings.
Kingdoms of the Night is very cool...but please do not use flash photography ! Many of the animals are very sensitive to light and they will hide from view when they see a bright flash.
I am actually from St. Louis, Missouri but have visited this zoo once a year since 2017. It is, by far, the closest zoo to utter perfection and it is only getting better. Definitely worth a visit.
This is the best zoo in the country . I haven't been in quite a few years, and they have made incredible improvements to what was already pretty amazing.
Excellent zoo to visit with a wide range of animals to view . Plenty of ways to get around. Amazing indoor exhibits as well . Excellent value for what you pay.
Amazing zoo . We bought a pass because with my family it was paid for in two trips. But we go again and again. Totally worth it. It took several trips for us to see everything.
It takes a whole day to really take in everything this zoo has to offer. The Creatures of the Night exhibit under the dome is my favorite.
My dad and I have come here every summer since I was in the 2nd grade. In 21 now and we still make a point to come every year. On of my favorite places on earth.
If you usually visit in the morning, try coming by in the afternoon (or visa versa). You get to see a lot of different animal behaviors at different times of day!
Largest cat complex in North America; world's largest nocturnal exhibit & indoor swamp; one of the largest indoor rainforest, & the world's largest indoor desert , & glazed geodesic dome in the world
My favorite time to visit is January. The zoo is near empty and the animals are more active. The indoor exhibits are all near the main entrance.
Absolutely the best zoo I have visited! The animals have acres and acres of living space. Omaha has done a wonderful job! 2 THUMBS UP!!!
Clean , modern and there was plenty of animal diversity. Check ahead for updates & closures.
Take the sky tram (to your right when you walk in) to the back and work your way forward--less crowds and great views of animals on the tram !
A place where adults can be a kid again! It is a very large zoo , and it has a I Max theater . My son goes with his four year old nephew when he has a day off!
Absolutely loved it here. Would definitely come back to visit. Needed more than a day to explore the entire place.
A definite must if you are ever in Omaha. Been going here since I was barely old enough to know the difference between a rhino and an elephant!
Great zoo ! The range of animals displayed here is breathtaking. It's a large park so bring comfortable shoes .
You can go here any time of year, even winter, due to all the indoor stuff that will keep you busy for hours.
This zoo is absolutely awesome! Been here twice and I still haven't seen it all! Loved the desert dome and feeding the monkeys.
A terrific zoo ! So much to see and do, it's hard to get it all in in one day. I still would highly recommend going there.
Best zoo I've ever been too, the big car exhibits and the gorillas are amazing and the aquarium has a walk through shark tank!
Awesome zoo ! Tons of things to see/do and the automated dinosaur park was a blast!
Some attractions not available in cold weather and the animals are hiding but then the crowds are small, too.
This zoo has some of the world’s largest indoor exhibits , for year-round fun. “My boys sit in front of the gorillas , and they all make faces at each other.” – Sarah Darling, American Baby reader
The coolest zoo ! I love the rainforest and the creatures of the night! But my favorite is the aquarium
There are so many great things to see here in the increasingly immersive exhibits , it's easy to completely lose track of the time.
Even when it's busy, this is a great place to take the whole family!
Number one zoo in the world. A waste of time to go anywhere else. Great changes always happening.
This zoo has grown over the years as Omaha's wealth has exploded with three billionaires living in the city . Easily one of the world's best zoos .
I've been coming here since I was a small child and I still love it every time! Definitely my favorite zoo by far!
Prairie Dog Hill ...so cute , they walk right up to you! Just don't touch or feed them.

Love the zoo . So many great things GS to see and do. I could sit and watch the sharks all day.

Surprisingly large zoo . Loved the variety of environments they provide especially the swamp area.
The sea animals are what you need to see. Stop and see an iMax.
Very surprised of what it had to offer. One of the best zoos I have been to.
Love the aviary; kids like the aquarium . IMAX is terrific too.
One of the best zoos i have ever been too. Great time with family.
Come in September- the weather is beautiful and its a great place to be out and active.
Something for kids of all ages. Come early, pack a lunch and spend the whole day there.
The aquarium , the jungle, and dessert dome are the main highlights. Peri-peri chicken was decent
Don't leave without visiting the swamp and the nocturnal animals. It's the coolest place there!
I absolutely love the Henry Doorly Zoo . The aquarium is amazing!
If you're going to see the new Africa section, I'd wait a bit. Not all animals are in. Just a lot of walking.
Desert Dome is very impressive. Playground fantastic too.
The renovation looks awesome, Im glad to see they updated this amazing exhibit! I remember in the early '90s when it was j a sliver of the present size. Glad to see the octopus are back! - Erik Rowley
The largest indoor desert and glazed geodesic dome in the world. Definitely one of the highlights of the zoo and can't be passed up as this is an incredible experience. - Erik Rowley
Hands down the greatest zoo I have ever been to. The indoor jungle is spectacular - Donovan
The playground is great, especially during the winter months. You don't have to worry about your kids getting muddy. Also, the sidewalk around the green space is great for kid's bike riding. - Laura Snyder
The 7 mile loop turned into 8 for me. Not sure what happened but super nice trail! - Sarah O
Wonderful little sanctuary amid the hustle and bustle of downtown. The ducks & geese are quite friendly. - Dayton H
It is free with a zoo membership and they show a wide variety of amazing nature films, as well as the occasional big screen blockbuster. - Phil Krit-skee
