Bangers and mash , trio of sausages , the lamb pie , the ploughman’s pork pie ...It’s a hint that Hicks, who’s from the Cotswolds, has a bistro background; he was formerly a chef at Orsay and La Goulue.

Their bacon burger with sesame buns is very good, one of the best I tasted. Good selection of beer and generous selection of wine . It’s a cozy place in a residential neighborhood .

Very cute pub with a surprising number of tables, including a charming courtyard . Scotch Egg , burger , and steak and mushroom pie were all solid.

On the expensive side but completely worth it if you love British food and beer . On my last visit I had Fullers London Porter , a great pub curry and sticky toffee pudding . Very friendly service too.

I think I had the greatest mashed potatoes of my life here. No joke. If they have the steak and kidney pie , I highly recommend pushing all things aside to make room for this monumental dish. Amazing.

Closest thing to a proper British pub in NYC. Chicken liver pate was great. Personally prefer soft/medium scotch eggs but still great here. Roast was good.

Really quiet for early lunch ; great roasted chicken salad , but the standouts are the English pies .

Food is very English but delicious. Try the cocktails--they make great use of just beer and wine . And if you're lucky enough to get Renee as your waitress , all the better!

A true gem on UES. Had crumpets and corned beef hash for brunch . Delicious!! I hear the fish & chips are also a must-have. Will def be back.

Favorite UES bar . Very authentically British. Some of the coolest, nicest and cutest bartenders in town . Try the Scotch egg !

The Fish & Chips are absolutely delicious (and this is coming from a Brit). Nice place with outdoor seating .

The pies are so flavorful - tender meats & flaky pastry . Homemade hummus was also so awesome. Skip the grilled salmon , it’s not bad just a bit bland.

They have English and Irish beers on tap . The sticky toffee pudding is good.

Try the white bait fish appetizer if they have it. It's an entire minnow looking fish deep fried with tarter sauce on the side. It's an adventure for the table.
