It's a tunnel , people. Not a cliff. No need to slam the breaks. It's 55mph both in and out of the tunnel . Keep it moving.

Going eastbound into Norfolk from Hampton: get in far left lane early on. All other lanes but one merge into each other. You're welcome. Oh and have good music . Sit back and forgettaboutit.

Fyi you can drive with a roof over your head. I know its weird but you can go faster than 30 ;)

Contrary to popular beliefs no, the tunnel does not drop off into an alternate reality at the top. Please feel free to just drive the speed limit the entire ride. We promise all will be fine.

Learn how to drive don't slow down because your elderly wife tells you to, or else you'll get a salute with one finger, also FYI people who slow down cause the traffic jams be sure to hit their car

Just because you're in a tunnel doesn't mean you need to drop 20mph below the speed limit .

Stay in the right hand lane unless you want to drive like the folks that have somewhere to be.

Breaking prior entering and/or mid tunnel is unnecessary unless a child is chasing a ball across the path. The speed limit is 55mph.

Make sure you bring a good audiobook, a full deck of smokes and a fresh cup of coffee . Traffic sucks, you'll be here a while.

For back-ups, stay in the right lane and merge before inspection station. Usually goes faster.
