Came by after attending the Hyde Park jazz fest. My first time eating there, and the food was good. The vibe was also great, there was jazz in the main dining room and a DJ on the other side. ????????
Ask for the peanut butter and jelly sandwich dessert . It's not on the menu and absolutely AMAZING! You don't have to like PB&J to enjoy this succulent treat. Mmm
Salmon croquets and braised collard greens were wonderful. I plan to try the gumbo next go around.
Ernest Dawkins one of Chicago's most celebrated Jazz Journeymen sets off a weekly Jam excursion every Sunday at Sunset 'til the early morning. Chicago's best and the rest come show their chops.
I really enjoyed the gumbo along with the lemon drop martini ! Ambiance is excellent!
Norman, the owner is the nicest man ever! The place is beautiful and the food is delicious. Liver & onions were incredible. Waiter Armir was delightful.
The Cajun Catfish Platter, red beans / rice , and coleslaw were delicious!!! Lemon Drop Martinis certainly completed the night
The Creole Seafood Platter is really good! The Sangria definitely needs help, but the are extra generous with the alcohol in the Mai Tai !
The shrimp and lobster pot pie is pretty impressive and as far as sides go the plantains with corn was a nice change of pace.
The Cajun Catfish was on point with the Red Beans and Rice . Great combo!
Would have to go again, didn't know they specialized in cajun food . We went and had the breakfast buffet in which I really wasn't that pleased with.

Litehouse has delicious healthy food! I love their salads, wraps, bowls and pizzas. They also have the best sweet potato fries! It also feels good to support a locally-owned, black-owned business. - Wednesday Quansah
