The waiter was extremely friendly and polite, food was tasty. However, decoration and atmosphere quite cheap , compared to the quality of food and service. Restaurant pretty small, around four tables.
Amazing Okonomiyaki (Japanese pancakes ), friendly service . Restaurant is a bit run down and won't go there for the first date, but overall very nice experience.
This was a unique and interesting alternative in the Netherlands; where they take pride in their pancakes . Try the Negiyaki-style (bed of chopped spring onions ) Butatama (Bacon , mushroom and cheese ).
I tried Hiroshima style deluxe okonomyaki, it was delicious. :D The chicken kara-age were also very good, they go really well with the wasabi mayo . I will return for sure.
Have a seat at the bar so you can see the magic happen. My fave: Osaka with beef & spinach
Really interesting and delicious Japanese pancakes . The owner and head chef is really friendly and you can watch him cook in the upstairs.
Call them and reserve a seat at the teppan . Portions are just right because a pancake packs quite some punch. Get both Osaka and Hiroshima style and split with your company.
Definitely try the Osaka style , the de lux was exceptional - you'll need half of one to a full one per person depending on how hungry you are!
The chef is friendly and knows how to whip up a great Japanese-style pancake !!!
Probably my new favourite restaurant in Amsterdam. Delicious okonomiyaki . Sit at the bar and watch the magic happen.
One of Amsterdams best kept food secrets, partially due to the absolutely random opening times. Take a seat at the teppan chat with the chef .
Sit at the counter and see how they make the food, it's glorious!
As a vegetarian the menu was limited. I friend the Hiroshima style cheese and mushroom pancake
Finally there's free WiFi at JPW! That is, if you're with KPN.com or Fon.com (thanks to a sharing neighbor)
Legit okonomiyaki - probably the best I've had in Europe.
Very good food. Come when it's raining outside, it's less busy. Sit with the chef , see him cook and chat. Great guy.
Do sit at the bar so you can see how all the good stuff is being made..fascinating and delicious!
Random hours and opening days but great if they are open and you're craving Japanese style okonomiyaki . Our favourite: Osaka Style Okonomiyaki
Osaka style = best style. The deluxe is unbeatable. Make a reservation to guarantee a seat! Read more
Pancakes , with their own japanese twist.. pretty good.
Hiroshima style vegetarian options . 👌🏿
Quite a number of appearances on AmsterdamVideo.com - Daily life and sightseeing videos of Amsterdam in Full HD.
My tip: Opening hours are subject to change a lot, check the website before planning a visit!! I visit here fairly often (however no check-ins with 4square yet, I only used BrightKite so far). Read more
Fantastic food! Highly recommended.
I don't like ginger . There's ginger inside.
Expecting an important call? Don't go to the toilet unless you're on Vodafone!
Excellent food. Try Hiroshima style Butatama .
Food is amazing. Service is a bit hit and miss.
Everything
Open hours now straightforward: tue-fr. 17-22 // sat&sun 12-22
The pancakes - love them !!
Great Okonomiyaki !
Super food
Only place in Amsterdam to get Okonomyiaki. If you're lucky it's opened.
Quite pricey because the portion is rather small, but taste-wise it's delicious.
Okonomiyaki
Butatama !
Reseveren is handig.
Cute little place with nice bento menu for lunch. I went for the day dish of Udon soup and shrimp tempura. Sit upstairs for a nice view over the canal backyards. - Renato Valdes Olmos
Excellent Japanese restaurant! Try especially the sushi and sashimi, you won't be disappointed. Don't forget to bring enough cash, as they don't accept cards. - Kenzo Tomita
Delicious ice-cream, tried the passionfruit cheesecake (fruity, tangy, and good) as well as a flavor with speculoos. The signs of flavors are in Dutch but the staff will gladly help you out. - Ameen Aqeel
