The Royal Armouries is Britain’s national museum of arms and armour. Over 5,000 objects are displayed in five galleries: War, Tournament, Oriental, Self Defence and Hunting. Check out the Hall of Steel, composed of 2,500 objects reminiscent of the historical trophy displays of the 17th century.

The Knights Joust is a must do for the kids. Amazing collection of swords in the Oriental Section and the Hall of Steel is something not to miss! Best of all - its free to get in!
The museum is a wonderful look at the history of war and weapons. It offers a wide variety of cultures as well as activities, making it a must visit if in the city . Don't miss the crossbow range!
Great day out and it's free! Realistically you'll be paying £5 for 3 hours parking but it's worth every penny. The exhibitions are fantastic!

Check out the fully enclosed armor as worn by Henry VIII. The cod piece is rather awesome
Amazing inside lots to see and it is free. The directions are poor though and I only found it after several attempts.

Great for the kids; if you fancy a sit down, there are computer consoles and games tables. Good shop too
Food is very dear but exhibits are interesting and they always have clean facilities .
The elephants actually smell to be honest. My wife complained and was presented with several hawks to choose

the horse show is great for children and they can go and see the horses & speak to the riders afterwards.

Who is this place even aimed at? Why does it even exist? It's just a load of old swords and really angry staff members who shout at you if you take pictures of the exhibits . Glad I didn't pay!!
Remember to start down stairs. It's really good for kids or all ages and there is plenty of local history. The cafe is nice but a bit expensive. - I Whitaker
