Take your time. Watch the ENTIRE Firefighter Bill Green documentary in the 9/11 exhibit . It is unbelievable!! Also, take note of the Harlem exhibit :)

Had intentions to visit anyway but the rain moved in early and we came here, easily spending the afternoon inside. It's free and it's a very well done museum . Glad to visit, learn, and see the history

Rock, Gem and Fossil show is awesome in February. Overall a great time to bring friends and family to see the museum .

Check out "Beneath the City : An Archeological Perspective" -- Under our streets, sidewalks, yards, and buildings are layers of soil that contain objects made, used, and discarded by former residents.

Remember coming here as a kid. Such a fun museum to visit. Not as great as one in a larger city . But great for Albany

Very quiet and enjoyable place to take your family! Don't forget to see the 9/11 exhibit it's so moving.

NYS Archives are a great place to do historical research. Staff is very welcoming and knowledgeable .

get to the fourth floor and enjoy the carousel - just do it.

It's free to get in but the suggested donation for a family is $10.

Entry is free but donations are accepted and appreciated.

Great history of the Empire State .

Check out the mastodon exhibit on the first floor!

Ride the wonderful carousel. See if you can find the one antlered deer? How bout the two donkeys?

This is a cool little museum , extremely informative for adults and hands on for the kids. Kids loved the animals and the 100+ yr old merry go round upstairs!

Pack a lunch and eat it on the 4th floor by the carousel!

Free. Great exhibits about all of NY. Powerful 9/11 exhibit . Only problem is galleries seem a bit disjointed and there isn't much of a flow thru the museum any longer. Makes it easy to miss things.
