When you walk inside you're transported back in time. This place is great, food-people-prices all worth a stop in!
Everything was amazing. Met the owners/head chef and they were so sweet and friendly . Get the Ruben , you won't regret it, and the syllabub for dessert .
4 spirits are believed to be making noise here: William Brown, Samuel McClary, William H. Lutterloh, and Augustus Staub. Look for Mr. Lutterloh's apparition appearing in a window on an upper floor.

The food was delicious! The lady in charge of seating us was curt and rude and almost spoiled the day. Our attentive waiter saved the day.

Play the games in the bar area before you leave
This is a little pricy for college students , but I've eaten here several times, and it defines good homestyle . Moravian chicken pot pie and the bread plate-- AHH.
Here's a first for me. Had the grandson with us for dinner and asked for an additional piece of bread . The waiter said there would be a charge for additional bread . What a bunch of tight wads!
Get the beer cheese soup . It's great!!!
A hidden gem in Winston-Salem
The oldest bar in North Carolina. Est. 1784.
Lots of fresh local ingredients !
The cranberry mayonnaise on the Turkey croissant is amozing.
great place
horrible food and service, and it is not worth eating here. The servers are great, but the manager and the host staff are so hostile and unwelcome which ruined our experience in NC.
The bread . Oh, the bread . Yum!
