I can think of a lot of ways to improve the visit there, but in general the feeling of being amidst the ruins of the Mycenaean culture is indescribable. Signs with information missing (post no2>)

One of the most ancient greek civilisations. Take in as much images and history as you can.

Wonderful site, but best brush upon your history before visiting it. Excellent museum . Visit early to avoid the heat and crowds.
