Gorgeous place to see a film ! The popcorn here is amazing too, and I know popcorn is popcorn but it just tastes so good here!

Tied with Sunshine Cinema in the LES for my favorite movie theater in NYC. Clean , comfortable , well-staffed -- and the popcorn is pretty good, too.

They're generous with the popcorn butter at the concession stand, which is great except the paper bags don't really hold up. Keep a few napkins under there if you don't want your lap buttered.

One of my favorite places to see movies in the city . Full of pretentious hipsters (👋) and retired boomers, so the audiences are generally quiet .

BAM was designed by Herts & Tallant, acclaimed theatre architects, in the Neo-Italian Renaissance style. Built in 1907 it is the oldest active arts complex, it was designated a NYC landmark in 1978.

Great art house and indie theater in an incredible part of Brooklyn. I love the feel of the theater too.

The theater has a good incline so your view is almost never blocked. If the movie is trending definitely come at least 20 minutes before to get seats. Good concession stand too.

Gorgeous theater. Consistently well-curated crop of movies , both new and old. Their luscious buttery popcorn will almost make you forget about the uncomfortable seats. Almost.

Such a beautiful theatre. All the good things of old timey-ness without the crappy-ness of old-timey-ness. If you've been to Angelika Cinemas in SoHo you KNOW what I'm talkin' bout.

Cheap tix in beautiful intimate spaces ! Original coffered ceilings even in the smaller black boxes. But definitely see as many films in Cinema 3 which still has a beautiful proscenium.

Buy tickets online for high-demand films at peak times as they often sell out. They have kiosks that make picking up your tickets super-fast. Also, show up early for good seats.

The theatre advertise perfect sightlines. In theatre 2, the person in front blocks the screen.

i live in astoria, so this is quite a troop, but i must say that this is one of the best cinemas nyc has to offer. they have cheap movie tickets. get here.

Smaller screen and space than most cinemas , but the overall building is beautiful

Plan on being in your seat ~20mins before the movie starts. It can get packed quick.

When they have a film series , it's hit or miss. Still, one of the more immersive theaters. The crowd can be shitty and talkative at times.

Best movie house in Brooklyn. Well , Nitehawk is not bad either..

If you are short , be warned. Some of the theaters are great, and some of them have bad sight lines . No stadium seating here.
