One of the most gorgeous theater presentations that I've ever seen in all its art for great films at a good price, on the level of breathtaking qualities like the theaters of IMAX! Everyone should go!
Saw Star Wars here! The dual-projection 3D looked great! Tickets and snacks are less expensive than chains, and the organist was wonderful! Great neighborhood , too!
This historic theater is a gem! Not only are movie tickets reasonable ($6 matinees and $11 reg), it’s beautiful, and in the main theater a guy plays the organ before the movie starts. What a treat!
If a movie is made in Oakland and is about Oakland - see it in Oakland here. Worth it.
$6 matinees at an old school theater by the lake in Oakland. Love this theater. Be sure to follow the signs for lining up when checking out a popular movie .
I’ve been coming here my whole life. The upstairs can hear the downstairs sometimes, but I don’t care. I love my home grown theater. The marquee , popcorn , the staff , the feel. It’s always good.
This place is phenomenally beautiful. Great place to see a movie . Way under patronized. Less expensive than chains, bring a sweater bc it can be chilly and on Tuesdays FREE popcorn
This theater is amazing, from the beautiful architecture to the live organ music in between movies . Definitely my new go-to for movie nights!
The theaters are so beautiful! I loved the curtains covering the screen and the antique style of the building. It was neat to see an old style movie there.
The last continually operating Art Deco era movie house in Oakland. Could use a little TLC. One of the only 70mm screens around.
This is one of the coolest theaters I've ever been to. So historic. Make sure to go on a Tuesday; movies are only $5!
I LOVE the comments about politics and civic issues which Alan puts on the Marquee every week. He is a giant of Oakland City Pride and Telling the Truth.
i love how oakland this place feels. each theater is beautiful in its own way.
Nothing beats $5 Tuesdays ! And one of the more beautiful theaters you'll ever see. Glad this spot is in the neighborhood .
All-time Favorite Movie Theater . Great place to catch a flick and chill out . All the auditoriums are awesome to be in, but the best screen is upstairs.
The best. Great popcorn , local sodas , $5 Tuesdays and a political marquee . Neighborhood institution.
Classic theater! Great place to see 3D. Two projector set up is sweet.
I like that old theater and It's architecture , the rooms are quite small and authentic
Amazing theater: good prices, comfy seats , great decoration! Love it!
The large theater is amazing. Of course the organ playing is special. Smaller theaters are better than most as well
It's so cute . It reminds me of the Castro theater inside. There's a decent amount of movies playing simultaneously. The snack stand is sparse. Sneak in the Booz people.
Great local theatre! Comfortable w/ good array of concessions. Also, cheap tickets on Tuesdays ????
Beautiful historic local theater. I grew up going here, and no other theater can ever compare.
Personally, probs my favorite theatre. It gives you hella "Last Action Hero" vibes... They just don't make places like these anymore.
Love this theatre, really nice interior and they still do 70 mm showings of select movies .
Beautiful green art deco interior. Not as grand as the Paramount, but runs up to date movies all the time.
Old school theater! Parking may be a little hard so plan to arrive early.
Great old theater, four good sized screens, comfy seats . Only detractor is aisle in the middle of the room, thus no perfect center seat. Small price to pay though.
Beautiful piece of history, awesome movie theater in great city .
Awesome place to see a flick . Support your local theater!
Sit in the front to get a seat, even when its crowded . Visit http://zennie62.com and let me know what you think.
Throughout my childhood we went to matinees at the Grand Lake Theatre to see all the Disney movies .
Beautiful theater with an air organ and multiple theaters. Great place!
Outside food is allowed if you get it from Wilde Brothers Coffee next door!
$5 all day Tuesday, including 3D. You can buy your Tickets online to save time.
Great place for dates, but get here early for popular movies .
Beautiful theater . A must do in Oakland.
Go for the Saturday night live organ music .
Hot dogs barely count as food, but even within that realm, these are bad. I love this theater, but put. That hot dog . Down.
Location, Location, Location. Large theaters, great movie selection. This is my favorite bar-none.
Post cards of the theater are on sale at the ticket counter for 50 cents each!
Great theater, well priced and friendly . They give out free popcorn mon-thurs
Reuse your 3D glasses and get 50 cents off your ticket
My fave! Love this theater, and the prices are great
Classic theaters and good selection of movies !
hanger 25 fountain soda is great
Best movie house in USA

Nice community theater. Parking and plenty of dinner options before or after the movie. - Edward Kiruluta
Great and simple neighborhood theater, $10 matinee price and accepts CC. A nice way to spend a day after eating lunch or shopping on this cute street. - Kiana Lynn
Solid dive. You can't bring in wings from wing stop because dogs are allowed on the back patio (worth it IMO). - Jeanine Shimatsu
Karaoke on Sundays, fun trivia nights and acoustic karaoke. Friendly staff and really great burgers - Alex Tenette
