中華街 10 基の門の中では一番最後の 2003 年に落成。「朝陽」は、東にあって朝日 を最初に迎えることに由来 (北京や西安など、中国の古都でも東門は「朝陽門」と名付けられている)。中華街 は北門 / 南門に聖獣の名を付けており、東門も東を守護する聖獣である青龍から「青龍門」とする予定だったが、「青龍」が男性の特定の状態を意味する猥語としても使われるということで今の名前になっている。
中華街 10基の門（牌楼）のひとつで、風水の考えに基づき東門＝青、南門＝赤、西門＝白、北門＝黒となっています。中華街 の東側に位置することから青色、繁栄をもたらす四神の青龍に守られています。
ここから中華街 を出る・入る…空間の差別化ができてうれしい。
