Excellent cultural & art museum ! Must see. Learned a lot about the Mexican’s history in Chicago. Fascinating art . The Museum shop is also very interesting. Free entrance.
NMMA has been a proud supporter of the LBGTQA community at large, hosting Queer Prom, and a wealth of other Community events , they also have amazing art exhibits , and are largely free!
Free admission everyday but please do donate something into the donation collection boxes. Great Día de los Muertos exhibit in the fall/month leading up to the actual holiday.
Not huge but incredible display of work. There is a lot of passion and thought put into the exhibits and the pieces that are curated. Very emotional and eye opening.
Fantastic exhibits and the permanent collection is dynamic. Look for Sunday Civic Orchestra concerts in the large open use spaces.
One of the best museums in the city . If you're in town during the annual Dia de Los Muertos exhibit , you're in for a treat!
Great Dia de los Muertos festivities , with some authentic altars brought in from Mexico. Sugar skulls on sale in the gift shop too.

Always free and always worth a visit, the NMMA is home to one of the country ’s largest Mexican art collections .
This place is beautiful and rich with history. Make sure you leave a lot of time to explore it..... And find it!
