The Michigan Theater is a treasure of Ann Arbor. Great environment to watch a movie . Only two screens and they mostly show independent movies but I am happy with that!
Price, acoustics and architecture are pretty flipping right on for a small artsy theatre. For $5 you can get a yearly membership, allowing you to buy wine & Bells beer !
Built in 1928. Fun to just walk around or within, go there to see a independent film , stage production or concert .
There is a fairy door to the right of the ticket counter and it has a movie running behind it. :)
Delicious popcorn and a beautiful interior design ! I attend a movie at least twice a month!
Michigan Theater is a part of Sundance and during the festival , they'll hold special screenings of some of the best independent films . Keep a look out for them.
If you love movies , consider getting a gold card. For $250 a year, you get free movies , popcorn , parking and support the theater.

Brandi Carlile has been returning every year, always a spectacular show. Ray LaMontagne and the Goo Goo Dolls are other favorites I've seen at the Michigan Theater.
