Chora Museum

Church is being renovated.You can see three corridors outside the church . Figures on the wall and ceiling are beatiful. I recommend you to buy the book to understand what those figures means.

Beautiful little church away from all the tourist attractions in Istanbul. Great examples of Byzantine art and mosaics . It's very tiny though; only three rooms to tour during renovations.

If you have a chance, I recommend you to visit this museum with a tour guide. (If you find a cheapest one of course) It is worth to listen the story behind the fresco and mosaics .

Just amazing and peaceful like u r actually in the 'chora'! Very well protected late-period Byzantine art base on La Madonna which is pretty rare to find. RIP Methokites †

Before going,check Serif Yenen’s virtual tour video on YouTube so you will know whole story of frescoes inside.Currently turning to a mosque ,a mihrab has been brought but frescoes are open for now

A very good alternative to the other famous attractions . Go there with a professional tour guide and learn all about the exceptional frescoes and the history of Christianity.

Also known as the Church of the Holy Saviour in Chora, this amazing church is one of the finest examples of Byzantine church architecture . Lots of beautiful frescoes and paintings to be found here

Under restoration but definitely worth seeing, try the Asitane restaurant afterwards for authentic Ottoman cuisine

Great place to stop but a little out of the way. Easy way to get back is to take a left when coming out and then a left down the hill and presto taxsi stand.

It is really a wonder how that amazing mosaics have survived centuries! The church is under renovation, only partly visiting is possible, entrance fee 15 Tl.

As of April 2014, credit cards are accepted for payment of ticket and audio guide . Currently, the Naos is closed for renovation.

Worth the trip. The most amazing mosaics and frescoes I have ever seen.

Under reconstruction. Only the narthex and the south isle can be visited. Still worth it.

Must see place in Istanbul

It doesn't worth it, I walked for long distances and very difficult terrain to find under repair building and most of it was closed

İtalyaya gitmeden önce ve rönesans hakkında görüş bildirmeden önce mutlaka görülmesi gereken yer. Müthiş mozaikler ve sahneler var. Bizansin son donem eserlerinden. Restorasyon hala devam ediyor.

İstanbul zaten başlı başına bir tarih şehri . Burası da Bizans mimarisinin en güzel örneklerinden biri olarak günümüzde tarihe ışık tutmakta. İstanbulda kültür turu yapacaksanız burayı da mutlaka gezin

Şehrin kenarında kalmasına rağmen görkemli tavan ve duvar süslemeleriyle harika bir yer. Bu vakte kadar neden gitmediğime gerçekten üzülüyorum. Şiddetle tavsiye edeceğim bir yer.

Ufak ama etkileyici bir yer. Mutlaka uğrayın. Giriş 45 lira ve müze kart satılmıyor. Müze kart alıp da gidin.

Один из лучших музеев, которых удалось посетить в Стамбуле. Наверное он не столь популярен у молодежи, но я настоятельно рекомендую посетить. По музейной карте вход бесплатный. Место завораживающее.

Balat’ta yer alan tarihi bir müze . Aslen bir Bizans kilisesidir . Mükemmel mozaikleri mutlaka görülmeli. Şu anda tadilatta ama ana kısmı gezebilirsiniz.

Rönesansın başlangıç noktası, şahane bir eser. İçerisinde kronolojik olarak mozaik ve fresk sanatıyla hıristiyanlık tarihi betimlenmiştir. Çok önemli bir ziyaret yeridir. Bakarken boynunuza dikkat :)

Hala restorasyon çalışmaları süren yapı içinde ki freskler ile ön plana çıkmaktadır. Birçok kilise yapımına öncülük etmiştir. Freskler Hz İsa'nın yaşamına dair anları yansıtmaktadır giriş ücreti 15 tl
