James Whitcomb Riley was a 20th century poet who lived in this his house after quitting school & worked for the Indianapolis Journal. He remained there until his first poetry was published in 1883.
Call ahead just to be sure there are no school tours or other events that day/time. A great experience for history lovers, poetry lovers, architecture lovers, and antique lovers!
This is perhaps the most idyllic neighborhood and perhaps one of the most beautiful and all of Indianapolis as well as being one of the oldest.
