United States Mint is a government building Philadelphia County Pennsylvania located in United States.
151 N Independence Mall E (at Arch St) Philadelphia , PA 19106 United States
The free self-guided was tour was well worth my trip to the city . The building is conveniently located in the heart of the city . Gift shop could have more of a variety of uncirculated coins to sell.
At the U.S. Mint , visitors can watch from 40 feet above the factory floor as large coils of copper and nickel are fed through presses to produce one million coins in just 30 minutes

Cool tour if you like the mechanics of coins ! We read all the signs. Glad we didn't skip this as some suggested. May not impress you if you need bells and whistles on your entertainment. Loved it!
An architecturally hideous scar on the face of Independence Mall , located near the Quakers and Benjamin Franklin's gravesite. Destroys a city block at the sidewalk level with blank concrete walls.
The PHLASH trolley runs Fri, Sat & Sun from 10-6 pm May-October 28, 2012. Just head to stops 2 or 18, buy a $2 ticket & you'll be on your way to seeing more of Philadelphia's attractions and museums . Read more
They work Monday thru Thursday so if you want to see the whole place working plan to go on those days. They only do Pennies on Fridays.
A really cool museum - it exceeded my expectations. Educational and fun.
Free admission and one of the best experiences in Philadelphia.
Watch workers make coins from a distance. If you like history/ in the area, this is a quick stop, and free. Bring photo ID . Thought I'd see more but the lobby/ 2nd mid-way floor is pretty interesting
The tour , while free, is really lacking. You hardly get to see any of the cool automation going on inside. history can also be cool, but not as cool as freakin robots! get what u pay for.
Great Job if you have experience in inventory apply
No photos please ❤️ but great time !
Free "tour " was ok. We learned after anout 5 mins to skip the history stuff... we just wanted to see how the money is made! =D
In August 1799, the U.S. Mint employees swore to return to work once the Yellow Fever epidemic abated. That was late fall 1799 – some 4 months later.
