The place caters mainly to hikers and exists for several decades, so expect basic comfort. The spa is a bit worn down but more than welcome after a day of walking. Good breakfast and dinner .
On cold / rainy days try to sit close to the stove (and far away from the doors)
Dorms are a bit pricey , around 8500¥ or so w/ dinner and breakfast . Pretty much no English, but great food and nice bath.

折り畳み傘が飛んできた！と思ったら、カラスでした。おやつの菓子パン を奪われそうになりました。

Dinner and breakfast are excellent. Staff is wonderful! Amazing nature trails and access to mountain hikes right outside the door. Great spot. - Megan G

Un lac d'eau calme dont l'entrée est payante (site religieux), qui se justifie absolument si vous y arrivez aux aurores, lorsque la brume recouvre l'eau et qu'on peut admirer les reflets parfaits. - Paco Pala
隣には徳沢園という山荘（旅館）・売店・食堂があり、ほかに隣接してトイレや水場があり便利です。河童橋から２時間くらい。それなりに人はいますがだいぶ落ち着いています。 - k nag
