Metro Diner

The breakfast food is pretty good here. Nice big servings , plus the staff is very quick & attentive. Just don't order cheese on your eggs . They'll literally put a slice of cheese on top of your eggs .

Being a Brit, I'm new to the whole portions-the-size-of-a-small-child thing so this was ace. Also really attentive service .

What a depressing situation the New York diner finds itself in. Thank God for the remnants. Metro is a pretty perfect examplar of the classic diner and diner culture generally.

Get the burgers and upgrade to the deluxe! Put the Cole slaw in the burger . Messy but delicious.

The food here is reasonably good. Mains n entrées are good but breads are usually cold and soups watery. However, the mains are fresh and delicious. Value for money too.

The Bagel or Bialy Box is a fantastic brunch - only one problem- no Onion Bagels !

Cheesecake , shmeesecake. If you want a treat, try the lemon meringue pie . Or the bread pudding . Or, when they have it, the jello cake .

Best NYC diner ever, and I've liver here for 25 years. Immaculately clean and stylized, super-fast friendy service, and delicious food. Excellent!

Just everything is good. My favorites are the Cobb Salad and Chicken Souvlaki ! Ask for Ray, he's the best.

Prompt service , over ample portions of breakfast favorites. CBH (corned beef hash ) was just how i like it.

Manhattan Diner is better overall, but this place does have an excellent pie menu going for it.

Alex the countermand is the best in NYC. A great pleasure to spend time with someone who so clearly loves his job.

An upper west side classic! Go before 11 to get the breakfast specials .

Mexican burger is the best. Get it with sautéed mushrooms and sautéed onions .

Careful. Friend and I ordered eggs/hash browns. Both potatoes were cold as stone, his eggs were almost uncooked. Shouldve been the first warning: after finishing my meal, I didn't feel well all day!

Huge ass portions. Soups big enough for a meal. Sliders that are really burgers .

The decor was pleasant enough. Yet looks like most diners. The prices are relative to it's location. It's up at UWS.

Tolerable experience. Edible food. Will pass next time.

The place was lively and packed but I got a seat right away and service was great. I recommend the chicken club . Fantastic.

Fast service . Decent service. They weren't chipper or super Smiley. But efficient and always making sure our coffee cup was filled.

Sitting at the counter is the real way to eat at a diner . Watching these guys fill take out orders is a real gas.
